Bruce Rawles Shows Elegant, Accurate Geometric Models of Planetary Orbits with New Calendar Solar System Geometries Per MartineauAvailable Online at

EAGLE POINT, OR—NOVEMBER 16, 2006— Bruce Rawles beautifully illustrates profoundly simple and astonishingly accurate models of the solar system based on ordinary geometric forms such as circles, triangles, pentagons, hexagons and octagons with the publication of Solar System Geometries Per Martineau.

Solar System Geometries Per Martineauis a full color, high resolution calendar featuring a dozen images of dazzling 3D computer generated images, each representing two or more orbits of planets in our solar system, from Mercury to Neptune, inspired by the line art images in colleague John Martineau’s book, “A Little Book of Coincidence.” The backgrounds for the ethereal models include images of planetary surfaces and nature. Famous astronomer Johannes Kepler tried to fit the solar system into a geometric model, without much accuracy. Martineau’s models, however, are mostly in the range of 99.9% accuracy or better. “I’ve done the math,” he says, “and they really ARE that accurate.” The premium version of the calendar features Rawles’ computer simulation of Kepler’s original woodcut showing planetary orbits from Mercury to Saturn within nested spheres.

Bruce Rawles createdSolar System Geometries Per Martineauto make the stunning discoveries of Martineau more widely available and understood, while providing a unique aesthetic experience with spectacular visuals and vibrant color. Archival quality giclées and other prints of Rawles’ planetary images have appeared in galleries in Switzerland, Arizona, California and Oregon. Solar System Geometries Per Martineauis available for purchase, along with greeting cards, prints and apparel with these and other images, as well as books, videos, music and other items on his websites at and blog at
