Program: Junior Achievement Program Opportunity- You’re Hired
What: This program gives students an opportunity to learn and practice skills they need to succeed in the workforce. This event will help students develop and practice skills such as interviewing, teambuilding, and networking so they can succeed in the global job market, develop the students’ writing, verbal communication, and critical thinking skills in a relevant context, and offer students a chance to succeed in a professional environment. Students will interview with volunteers from leading businesses, which could possibly lead to internships and employment.

Program: DigiPen Sound Design Workshop
What: The series is targeted towards high school students who are interested in exploring the sound design industry as a college and professional career. No prior experience with music or sound design is required! Students with any interest in audio programming, creating or composing music, and/or working with music and sound professionally may be interested in attending.

Program: Computing Open House at UW Seattle
WHAT: Participate in hands-on activities and visit research labs to find out what computing is all about! Students and faculty from UW's computing majors will introduce you to the broad range of problems computing can address. Representatives from local technology companies will show cool demos and tell you why they love their jobs.

Program: Starbucks Tour-STEM Careers
What: Starbucks will be inviting 80 girls to their corporate headquarters. The goal is to increase girls’ knowledge in regards to STEM careers. Twenty girls from each high school will have an opportunity to fill out an application to apply for this opportunity. Busses will come and pick up the girls at two separate locations on March 11. One at Bellevue High, which will pick up girls from Newport and Bellevue, and one at Interlake, which will pick up girls from Sammamish and Interlake. Starbucks has many plans and events organized for this big day. March 11 is a district directed professional day in Bellevue School District so there will be no school in session that day, therefore, missing classes or events scheduled at school will not be an issue.

Program: UW Bothell Senior Application Day
What: Students apply to the University of Washington Bothell with assistance from Admissions Advisors as they walk through the application process from start to submit. The day includes a campus tour, interaction with current UW Bothell students, and completing the UW Bothell application. Participants must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA, a completed personal statement, and activities log.

Program: NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing
What: The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computinghonors young women at the high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. Awardees are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education.The girls may earn scholarship for college, find computing internships, connect with a large network of other technical young women and discover resources to increase the knowledge of technology

Program: Young Women Empowered (Y-WE)
What: This is a leadership and mentorship program. Learn public speaking & performance skills; meet amazing adult role models who will help you set and meet goals for the future; participate in creative writing, that will improve your written and verbal communication

Program: Washington Aerospace Scholars
What: A 2 part program designed for students interested in Engineering and Aerospace.
Where: Part 1 is a NASA designed on-line curriculum. Part 2 is a Summer residency Session at the Museum of Flight, where students are mentored by professional engineers & scientists.
When: On-line assignments run from late December to May. Six day summer residency programs are run in June & July.
Open to: Current high school juniors that have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, are U.S. citizens, and are at least 16 years of age.

Program: Tech Prep classes
What: Students enrolled in Tech Prep classes and earned a “B” or higher grade, are encouraged to sign up online for college credits
Cost: There is a $46 annual fee, regardless of how many college credits a student earns in one year. The tuition is waived for students on Free and Reduced Lunch.
