SALVATION: FOUNDATION FOR DELIVERANCE

AND DOMINION

The Lord has made the way to freedom simple and through His grace free. Deliverance from eternal wrath and peril as well as deliverance from temporary affliction and trouble have their foundation in the finished work of Christ at calvary.

Salvation is the foundation and the basis of every blessing made available to us in Christ. It is what qualifies us to enjoy the benefits of calvary.

To seek deliverance while rejecting salvation in Christ is more like chasing shadows. To desire to enjoy dominion while revelling in sin is like trying to store water by pouring it into a woven basket. Salvation is God’s royal way to deliverance and dominion.

PRELUDE TO DEFEAT

Psalm 107:10-12,17; 106:13-43; 119:67; Proverbs 1:24-33; 13:15; 5:22; Job 4:8; 2 Timothy 2:25,26

Sin is always a prelude to defeat. Sin always opens the doorway to oppression and affliction and makes a person vulnerable to the fiery darts and vicious attacks of the devil.

Rebellion against God’s word and refusal to heed divine counsel will always land a person in trouble, darkness, affliction, broken heart, etc. (Psalm 107:10-12; Proverbs 1:24-33). Sin always brings affliction (Psalm 107:17; 106:13-43; 119:67).

Sin will always bring defeat (Psalm 106:43) and hardship (Proverbs 13:15). Idolatry always brings multiplied sorrows (Psalm 16:4; Isaiah 8:19-22). Idolatry provokes God to jealousy for it is giving God’s glory to inanimate objects, creations of men’s hands and hearts (Psalm 115:4-8). Idolatry brings God’s wrath, judgement and curse on any group of people up to the fourth generation (Exodus 20:1-8; Deuteronomy 27:15).

The law of sowing and reaping always operates in every area of our lives (Galatians 6:7,8; 2 Corinthians 9:6,7). The person who sows wind will reap an abundance of wind – whirlwind (Hosea 8:7). The man who sows sin (wickedness) will surely reap iniquity (Hosea 10:13; Job 4:8). He that sows righteousness will definitely reap divine mercy (Hosea 10:12).

Every form of disobedience to God’s word brings terrible affliction and hardship (Leviticus 26:14-39; Deuteronomy 27:14-26; 28:15-68; 32:15-25).

Sin is always a trap and the sinner will be bound by the cords of his sins (Proverbs 5:22). Sin always gives the devil the legal right to attack a person (2 Timothy 2:25,26).

PREREQUISITE FOR DELIVERANCE

Psalm 34:7,17,19,22; 97:10; 68:6,35; 103:3-6; 105:13-15,24; Proverbs 28:13; Isaiah 55:6,7; Job 11:14,15; Jeremiah 31:11.

Evil will always slay the wicked (Psalm 34:21) and God is angry with the sinner EVERYDAY (Psalm 34:16; 7:11; 9:17) but the fear of God and righteousness are what guarantee deliverance (Psalm 34:7,17,19,22).

Deliverance is an aspect of divine mercy and divine mercy has only been promised to those who repent of their sins, forsake them and turn wholeheartedly unto the Lord (Proverbs 28:13; Isaiah 55:6,7). Sin will always deprive and rob us of God’s help (Isaiah 59:1,2). However God will draw nigh unto us and help us when we put sin far away from us (Job 11:14,15).

Salvation has always been the prerequisite for deliverance in the scriptures (Psalm 97:10; 68:6,35; 103:3-6; 105:13-15,24; Jeremiah 31:11). Seeking deliverance while remaining in sin is at the very best a waste of time and at the very worst very, very dangerous and destructive (Matthew 12:43-45).

Sin will always serve as a blockage and barrier to answered prayer (Psalm 66:18; John 9:31).

PATH TO DOMINION

Romans 8:31,33,37; 16:19,20; 1 John 5:4,5,18; 2 Corinthians 2:14; Colossians 1:12,13; Ephesians 2:6

God does not intend to deliver us only, He intends to make us perpetual overcomers. We should make progress from deliverance from bondage and captivity to dominion over every satanic attack and manipulation.

However salvation is again the path to dominion. Only those who are in Christ can be more than conquerors (Romans 8:31,33,37). Only the obedient can have the privilege of bruising Satan under their feet (Romans 16:19,20). Only those who are born of God (born again) can be true overcomers (1 John 5:4,5,18). Triumph is only promised to the saved (2 Corinthians 2:14). Deliverance from the power of darkness and translation into perpetual victory and dominion is the preserve of the redeemed of the Lord (Colossians 1:12,13).

Only those who have been raised up together with Christ and are alive in Him can be made to sit together in heavenly in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6). It is only those who are born again that can have complete victory and dominion over every manipulation and attack of the devil (1 John 5:18).

PURPOSE AND DECISION

Matthew 11:12; Luke 16:16; 13:24; 15:12-24; 2 Corinthians 6:2; Joshua 24:15; Exodus 32:26; Isaiah 53:1.

There is no middle ground in spiritual matters. We are either for God or for the devil, for sin or for righteousness. Halting between two opinions borders on self-deception (1 Kings 18:21).

Sin may look desirable or taste sweet but it is only the fisherman’s bait that will get the fish into trouble (Proverbs 9:17,18; 6:23-35; 20:17).

The sinner is abandoned to his sin and the devil who is his/her father and faces both the wrath and judgement of God as well as the oppression and the manipulation of the devil (John 8:44; Ephesians 2:2,3).

The repentant is promised mercy, pardon, deliverance from the strongman and dominion over satanic activities as well as saved from eternal peril (Proverbs 28:13; Psalm 107:17-20).

Getting saved needs purpose of heart. Be determined and force your way into the kingdom of God. Violently jerk yourself out of sin and the clutches of the devil. Press into the kingdom of God today. Today is the day of salvation. Tomorrow may be too late (Matthew 11:12; Luke 16:16; 13:24; 2 Corinthians 6:2).

Have you believed our report? (Isaiah 53:1). Have you decided like Joshua? (Joshua 24:15). Who is on the Lord’s side? (Exodus 32:26).
