JOB DESCRIPTION & DUTIES:

Scientific Technologies Corporation is looking for a .NET software engineer excited about developing state of the art systems to bridge the gap between healthcare providers and public health organizations. Mid-level engineers at STC should be prepared to be involved in all facets of development, testing, deployment and escalated support. Although you may be stronger in one tier than another, you will be expected to contribute in the presentation, application, and database tiers. Even if you’re not a graphic designer, we expect you to be familiar with basic UX concepts. STC expects a mid-level engineer to be comfortable working fairly independently to take product requirements all the way through to working C# or Javascript code, including unit tests. However, we also expect a high degree of collaboration, and running new ideas or approaches past the other developers on the team for input is part of our culture.
STC does not expect its engineers to be polished public speakers, but it does expect they will communicate well with each other, understanding the balance that must be walked between rapid development, system scalability, and code maintainability.Mid-level engineers at STC should be comfortable working with an agile methodology and toolset. We use JIRA Agile and 2-week sprints with code reviews and QA co-located with Dev. You will participate in peer code reviews, which we believe are a valuable tool for all of us to continue learning and developing our skills.
Job Functions
·  Effectively use multiple web technologies on the Microsoft® platform to achieve STC goals through requirements analysis and application design, development, and testing.
·  Fully contribute to team objectives around system performance, quality, maintainability, etc.
·  Provide estimates for user stories.
·  Perform root-cause analysis and bug fixing as needed.
·  Stay up-to-date on development techniques and technologies.
·  Assist others on the team and outside the team as needed.

MINIMUM qualifications:

Qualifications and Requirements:
·  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, plus three years of commercial software development experience OR five years of commercial software development experience.
·  Familiarity and professional experience with recent versions of Microsoft.NET products (e.g. Visual Studio® 2012/2013, SQL Server® 2008+, IIS 7+).
·  Experience using defect management tools, unit testing frameworks, and version control systems.
·  Knowledge of client-server, web-based, and service/API-based architectures.
·  Experience with creating automated tests.
·  Bonus points for experience with any of the following: US healthcare, HL7®, Java®, SOAP/XML, AJAX/JSON, data warehouse, GIS mapping.
