Expressions of interest are invited from enthusiastic and committed teachers interested in filling a Kindergarten, Year 1 class for Term 2 2017 with the possibility of extension for the remainder of 2017. The position will be located at: Salt Ash Public School and is a full time position.

Salt Ash Public School is a small school serving a semi-rural area bounded by Raymond Terrace, Tanilba Bay and Nelson Bay. The school stands on the traditional lands of the Worimi people and is situated approximately 25km north of Newcastle. The school features air conditioned single-story classrooms, a covered outdoor learning area, multi-purpose basketball court, vegetable gardens, a large playing field, canteen, library and administration block.

Selection criteria

·  Proven ability in developing and delivering quality teaching and learning in a Kindergarten and Year 1 setting.

·  Demonstrated ability to deliver differentiated learning opportunities catering to a diverse learning group.

·  Demonstrated capacity to use data to inform the teaching and learning cycle.

·  Demonstrated capacity to contribute to whole school roles and responsibilities, and contribute positively to the whole school culture with a focus on CAPA.

Applicants should consider the information in the role description and respond to the four position criteria. Applications must include two referees. Candidates may be required to participate in an interview as a component of the Expression of Interest Process.
