Sales Manager

Overview of Position

Working out of our Georgetown office, and reporting to the President, the Sales Manager works closely with the industrial sales team to grow the business by securing new business with existing customers and prospective clients. As a member of the strategic management team, you will use your financial, sales and analytical skills to report on sales activities, establish projections and trends, as well as develop your team and develop opportunities. The ideal candidate will be high energy, strategic, have strong customer relationship skills and be an excellent people manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Driving sales performance, specifically focusing on developing business with existing customers and new opportunities
  • Customer relationship management; Building strategic business relationships with clients at the executive level
  • Developing talent, mentoring and effectively managing the sales team to potential; includes hiring and performance management
  • Managing and monitoring new opportunities, prospecting potential new customers
  • Ensuring sales data and relevant metrics are developed and accurately tracked
  • Forecasting and tracking performance
  • Working with Marketing and the Sales team, developing proposals that engage customers and meet their needs and objectives.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitorsto identify and develop the Company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Understanding business trends and their implication to our business

Qualifications:

  • University degree and 4-5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Fluency with MS-Office in a Windows environment, particularly Excel and sales management tools
  • Knowledge of the pipe and value industry an asset
  • Strong customer relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Proven people management skills and evident leadership abilities
  • Strong English speaking and written skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate; effective team player
