Salò2010: The Twenty Days of Sodom
Dear friend reader, to educate man and to improve his morals is the humble intention of this story. I think of mankind and weep tears of blood for the loss. We live in a world where there is nothing but simulacra, not just of objects but of humanity itself. A world in which nothing merits blame or praise, reward or punishment. No real evil, no real good. In a word, lost. The story to be communicated is one of a noble group who attempt a connection with the real, through pain and blood and piss and shit, and whose heroic endeavour is chronicled herein. Rather than bore the reader with tedious exposition, there shall follow a brief resume of the principal characters, the supporting cast, the accomplices and their victims. After a short explanation of the set up, we cut straight to the fucking, humiliation, torture and murder. Jump cut to the mutilation, necrophilia, water sports, coprophilia, bukkake and snuff. All murder, all guts, all fun.

The Set up
This is the story of four multi-millionaires who resolve to gratify their every fetish and desire. In order to facilitate this, they seal themselves away in a remote and hard to access castle, set high in the mountains and delimited by forests. The castle is located in France and the events of the story occur over twenty days in the year of 2010. A harem of nine victims has been assembled for the four libertines' amusement. They are corralled by eight guards who are thuggish retired soldiers. On every one of the twenty days a ‘routine’ is staged which involves the sexual humiliation, torture and in some instances murder of the victims. The four principal characters participate individually in the routines and are assisted in some of them by their accomplices The MC and The Big Black Monster Dicks (often shortened to the ‘Monsters’ for reasons of brevity). As the days progress, the routines grow more intense and sadistic, finally resulting in the slaughter of the victims and a few of the accomplices.
The four principal characters
The Duc de Jizz: A debauched Parisian in his early forties. In his early career a porn auteur specialising in fetish/SM flicks who gained mainstream success with a series of transgressive music videos for the seminal French house/electronic bands Le Frog and Deluxe which brought him to the attention of Lady Rectum and led a successful and highly lucrative collaboration. Now lives in LA.
Lady Rectum: Italian-American born in New York and in late twenties. Started career as a performance artist, winning awards for her off Broadway show My Vagina Bites! before becoming a pop culture icon and briefly the most photographed woman in the world through a combination of bizarre costumes (most famously an offal bikini worn at the 2008 MTV video music awards), glam rock inflected Ibizan Europop and high concept innovative videos shot by the Duc De Jizz. Went into a Garboesque retreat from the public eye after the influential pop culture blogger Perineum Ritchie labelled her 'Fat ass' on his web blog, precipitating a spiral into bulimia and heroin abuse that wrecked her career.
Boch: A saturnine, fabulously wealthy German former hedge fund manager who became a financial advisor to the stars. His family left Berlin in the late 1950s to settle in New York after it was revealed his grandfather had been an SS physician assisting Josef Mengele at Auschwitz. Helped Lady Rectum accumulate a fortune before her withdrawal from public life. A keen occultist and aficionado of Wilhelm Reich's orgone box.
Doc Greenson; Old school Hollywood plastic surgeon of advanced age who still lives on Mulholland Drive. The sixties was his boom time, where, after studying under Irving B Goldman at Mount Sinai in New York, he went onto perform rhinoplasty on some of Hollywood's biggest stars (one of his rumoured clients was Lady Rectum) and was noted for his discretion and charm prior to his retirement in 2006.
Supporting Cast
Max Renn: Former president of the Toronto television station Civic TV and burned psychically by a flirtation with Videodrome.
The Chymist: An old hipster drug dealer, native of California, lurching into middle age and loathed by Doc Greenson.
The Lady in Waiting: The porn star Gauge who is Lady Rectum's personal assistant and fluffer for the routines. A favourite of the Duc de Jizz from his porno days.
Accomplices
The MC: Private Jamie Lung who served a three month prison sentence for participation in the prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Upon release claimed she had been coerced under threat of violence by her then lover Sgt. Dick Conan and began a lesbian relation with a former colleague. Met Lady Rectum at a gay rights rally in Washington where they shared the stage.
Big Black Monster Dick: Three African American super studs and porn stars, all built like line backers with huge cocks.
The Guards: Eight thirty something brutes who served in the Bosnian Serbian Army in the early 1990s and were gleeful participants in the ethnic cleansing campaign waged against Bosnian Muslims. All of them evaded censure for the atrocities they carried out and blended seamlessly back into civilian life. Acquired through Boch's impeccable European connections.
