For the benefit of those with hearing impairment, induction loop systems are installed. During one of the hymns there will be a collection for the work of the Church in this parish. If you are a taxpayer please use one of the Gift Aid envelopes which are at the back of church, or ask one of the sidesmen. Through Gift Aid every £10 given is increased to £12.50 at no extra cost to you!

Farewell Imogen! Today we say farewell to our curate Imogen.

She has been with us for over four years and WE WILL MISS HER!

Imogen will be licensed in her new post by the Bishop of Derby, assisted by the Archdeacon of Chesterfield, at St Thomas’ Somercotes on Monday 19th October at 7.30pm. Please sign up on the list at the back of church if you require a seat on the coach.

As usual, there are three ways to give thanks:

  1. Donation to the Bishop’s Harvest Appeal (see posters in church)
  2. Items for The Basic Idea* (ChristChurch) or Padley Centre (All Saints’)
  3. Fresh Produce to be distributed locally

*The Basic Idea Food Bank needs: Packets of rice (long grain / basmati type - 1kg bags are ideal), Tinned pies, Packets of Mash,Tinned chilli,Tinned chicken in sauce,Tinned curries (mild),‘Angel Delight’ or similar,Steamed puddings,Tinned custard,Coffee (small jars).

Post Communion Prayer: Almighty God, you have taught us through your Son that love is the fulfilling of the law: grant that we may love you with our whole heart and our neighbours as ourselves; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Please pray for...Imogen, as she prepares for the next stage of her ministry and for her new congregations as they prepare to welcome her.

Services at Christ Church
Tea/coffee is served in the Bateman Hall after the 11am Service on Sunday and the 9.30am Service on Wednesday.
On the first Sunday of the month Laying on of Hands & Anointing for Healing is available in the Lady Chapel for those who wish to receive this Sacrament.
