Mrs. Susan Vargas – Fourth/Fifth Grade Teacher

The multigrade/looping classroom offers a school an efficiency factor that can be achieved in the conventional small-school setting, which Saint PaulSchool is. This structure creates a more favorable student-ratio by placing more students of two grades in one teacher’s classroom-with assistance. In many cases, this structure has been viewed more favorable in recent years because of the popularity of multilevel, advance-at-your-own pace and mastery of content philosophies it embraces-especially in many magnet/charter schools who are more student-centered (known as Professional Learning Communities/PLC) vs. content centered.
