FOR THE NEWCOMER; If you are new to Networking and/or the job search, join us at St. Hubert, 6:00pm, prior to our regular meetings (on the second and fourth Monday of each month). We’ll offer a one hour program on how to use a networking meeting effectively, the tools you’ll need such as; The Elevator Speech; How to do a Handbill, and how to generate the contacts you need.

November 25, 2013 – “The Hybrid Resume” – Mon. 7:00pm to 9:15pm, St. Hubert Ministry Center – 729 Grand canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. There are some new methods being tried and tested by job candidates that are setting their resumes above the crowd. Learn some of nuances and unique methods being applied to the standard resume that could change your job finding odds to the positive. Our presenter is Bob Podgorski, Coordinator of the St. Hubert Job Ministry.

December 7, 2013 – “Career After College” (for the college student or graduate looking for a career) – St. Mary’s Church, 10 North Buffalo Grove Rd. Buffalo Grove, IL., 9:00am to 12 Noon. Bob Placko, former Sr. V.P. HR, Motorola (retired) and recent Professor, Carthage College will present his very effective program to help the college student or recent graduate traverse the rigors of job and career search. This is a 3 hour program and requires advanced registration. Email your registration to – Include; name, Email address and town of residence, college and state, graduation date and major. Class is limited to 20 attendees.

December 9, 2013 – “Job Ministry Social Evening” – Mon. 6:30pm to 8:30pm, St. Hubert Ministry Center – 729 Grand canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. This is our annual social event. We will have cake and coffee and encourage casual networking. Attending will be current and past members, core team members, volunteers, speakers, resume reviewers and guests. Please join us and use this opportunity to meet new people and make key connections before the New Year.

January 11, 2014 – “The First Ten Days of Your New Job” – Sat. 9:00am to 12:00 Noon. Roselle United Methodist Church, 206 S. Rush Street, Roselle, IL. Many of our members have asked for this seminar on how to handle the first ten days on a new job to have the best chance for making a great impression and holding onto the job. Our Coordinator, Bob Podgorski will present. Bring a friend, as there will be a handout takeaway that will be helpful as a reference.

January 13, 2014 –“Dynamic Networking” – Mon. 7:00pm to 9:15pm, St. Hubert Ministry Center – 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. Bob Podgorski, Coordinator for the St. Hubert Job and Networking Ministry will share his methods of job search networking that gets results and will add to your list of relevant and helpful connections.

January 25, 2014 – “Resume Review” – Sat. 9:00am to 11:00am , St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL. Bring your resume for a personal evaluation by one of six HR, Search, or Career Counselors who will be on hand to give you their thoughts and suggestions. Bring a friend. This will be the first monthly Resume Review of the year and at a new partnering parish.

January 27, 2014 – “Organizing With An Empty Desk” - Mon. 7:00pm to 9:15pm, St. Hubert Ministry Center – 729 Grand canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. One of the most difficult things job seekers have is staying organized and effective without clutter and misfiling of important information and follow-up. Join us as Bob Sherman helps us with his excellent presentation.

February 10, 2014 – “Casual Networking Night” – Mon. 7:00pm to 9:00pm, St. Hubert Ministry Center – 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. An evening of casual networking with others in attendance. The evening will begin with an introductory exercise to get you started. Be sure to bring plenty of resumes, business cards and handbills and enjoy

the evening. We will have refreshments and attire is business casual.

February 15, 2014 – “Blogging - A Platform To Share Your Unique Value proposition” – Sat. 9:00am to 12 Noon

Career coach, Howard Fox will present a program on Creating and enhancing your brand recognition on the social network LinkedIn. Be sure to attend and pick up a tip that may bring additional recruiters to your LinkedIn profile.

March 10, 2014 – “Dealing With the Weakness Question” - Mon. 7:00pm to 9:00pm, St. Hubert Ministry Center – 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. The one interview question that plagues candidates for employment is the - “Tell me about your Weaknesses.” Question. We are pleased to bring you Jim Weihrouch, who will help us to develop a best answer to this question that perplexes many.

March 15, 2014 – “Teaming in Job Search” – Sat. 9:00am to 12 Noon, (Location TBD). Joining us for this seminar is Roger Wright, career author and columnist, who will describe the advantages of and how to make the best of partnering arrangements in a job search. One of the most pronounced problems for job seekers is going it alone – but, just how can one partner to reach maximum impact for both (all) teaming parties. Roger’s expertise will answer the question.
