Statement of Strategic Purpose

This compulsory core section of the Diploma will provide New Zealandorganisations with people who have the skills and knowledge to achieve business and organisational objectives at an operational level. It also provides the basis for specialist skills and knowledge relevant to the strand they have completed.

Graduate Profile

Graduates of this qualification will be able to, in a bi- and multi-cultural environment:

Statement of Strategic Purpose

This qualification will provide New Zealand with competent entry-level self-employed people and will enhance their ability to start and operate a small businessfor the benefit of the viability and the survival of the sector.

Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to identify the roles and responsibilities of self-employment, scope a business opportunity, and assess its viability by applying personal, business, and financial skills.

This qualification is for people who wish to apply business skills and knowledge to manage a small business.

The business sector and community will benefit from having people who are experienced and qualified in business administration, in order to contribute to organisational goals, including evaluating emerging technologies to improve performance and productivity of the organisation.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to, in a bi- and multi-cultural environment:

  • Manage and co-ordinate the internal business administrative systems, processes and technologies, to support operational needs (25 credits)
