Sad Mad Galahs Donald Tate and the Brigallisimos

In our recent expose` of Donald Tate, we pointed out that Tate and his Mad Galah mates are directed and controlled by what we termed the "Brigallisimos". This title was bestowed (tongue in cheek) on the basis that the Mad Galahs insist that the veteran community is controlled by "Generalissimos".

We know that the "Generalissimos" is a farcical, title created by the Mad Galahs to cause Bolshevik type division in the veteran community by suggesting that veterans are treated like cattle by a group of all powerful born to rule ogres. Their objectives appear to be to "overthrow" the current system and replace it with their own style of management. Like Bolsheviks their style is all huff and puff without substance and is built on lies, accusations, conspiracy theories, threats and bully boy tactics.

We also know that unlike the "Generalisimos"the "Brigallisimos" really exist, one of them is retired Brigadier George Mansford AM, the creator of the term Mad Galahs. Mansford takes it upon himself to offer advice to Tate and is also known to have communicated with other members of that group. In fact a particularly venomous Mad Galah, Barry Corse named Mansford as the Chief Mad Galah in an email on the 24th May 2008. In a lengthy hate filled communication he said in part:

"The Chief Mad Galah George Mansford reduced the lady to tears of happiness when he sent her a personal copy of his ANZAC heritage "The Mad Galahs", as acknowledgement of her "loyalty and service" to OUR ANZAC community.

An outed dishonest wannabe Mad Galah, Noel Molly Muller (The lamb chop mutineer) is also known to communicate directly with Mansford, as evidenced in his email of the 7 Jan 2009 part of the email is shown below: (The full email is available if required)

Subject: Re ANOTHER POINT OF VIEW

Dear George. Thank you for your calming words at this point in time when, with a new year, a Social Government in its second trimester and yet still so very much of the same concerning the Veterans bickering. It is my experience (limited to) in the "Lower Deck" of the RAN that the OR's are historically pedantic largely when it comes to the higher command. I was almost involved in one Mutiny aboard HMAS Vendetta which was oddly enough involving the Food we were being fed after a 6 weeks excursion at sea without land fall. It was not as simple as that but that is what it was all about. The food was "rotten" beyond any question and it was only when the rumours reached command that things were brought to heel. Amazing, it was really as simple as that"

Now see the email that Tate distributed through the Mad Galah mailman Allen Petersen on the 22 Feb 2009, indicating Mansford's "Brigallisimo" involvement

Subject: Final word on the 2nd D&E Platoon

G'day Allen

Brigadier George Mansford AM contacted me recently to remind me that I don't need to continue to respond to attacks from any individual about the bona fides of the 2nd D&E Platoon because the matter is absolutely resolved whatever those critics think or say.

However, I should like to post a few items those critics, and other doubters, should note carefully. They are:

- a letter from the Hon Mike Kelly MP (which preceded his formal announcement of the 30th May 2008) in which he details the investigative process carried out by senior officers of the Army History Unit.- and a photograph captured by civilian photographer Gibbons which shows villagers watching apc's drive past dragging headless bodies into Xuyen Moc (a somewhat different picture to the one painted by the military as far as how the bodies were treated)

Which brings us to the unanswered questions of why?

I provide some of the answers in "The War Within". But not all. The fact is- it was to disguise contentions that arose in the field that would reflect very poorly on all concerned if the truth ever got out.

It's why the Major Pound Enquiry was such a farce- he never invited a single infantryman, not one trooper, not one sapper, nor one mortarman from that combined force to give evidence. Not even the commanding officer- Captain Tom Arrowsmith was invited.

So much for military truth.

Don Tate

Any reasonable person would conclude that retired Brigadier George Mansford is one of the leaders or Patron of the Mad Galahs. He also seems to subscribe to the conspiracy theories of Tate and his mates. In an email to Tate in April 2008 he said – in part:

"Let me say at the very beginning that I am very much appalled at the treatment you have received, not only in recent times but the whole sad story of total negligence and questionable leadership you experienced in Vietnam. I certainly do not support or justify your critics, however, I think I understand some of their thinking and resentment. First there is no doubt that some of your critics are in denial, and nothing is going to change that but those I think I understand simply do not want to hear criticism of their beloved units/regiments/corp and leaders they readily identify with. (For example, Sandy Pearson was and is loved by many)"

Tate's main contention is that Brigadier "Sandy" Pearson as Commander of 1 ATF in Vietnam and other officers corruptly altered and expunged military records to cover up illegal practices in his unit. Mansford in a "slick" way agrees with Tate that Pearson and other officers of the time were corrupt and says those who don't agree with Tate are in denial because they do not wish to think badly of their leader.

That load of crap is truly a gem and puts Mansford in the position of supporting these idiots.

Mad Galah, stand over merchant, conspiracy theorist and suspected wannabe, Dave Briggs of Western Australia in an email of 13 Sep 2007 referred to the Mad Galahs as a group as follows:

"Mate what you say is correct but those of us that have been facilitating and processing the needs and wants of the Mad Galahs have not lost sight of this and are expecting the war to become dirty once the election is announced"

The militant Mad Galahs, are a formed group with leaders and even a motif showing an angry Galah on a red flag, except for Mansford and a few others they were unsuccessful in the Defence Force, and now seem devoted to portraying the Military of the Vietnam era and the current era as a bunch of dishonest cowboys. They have blamed their incompetence on the Military instead of blaming themselves. It is clearly not the anti Mad Galah people who are in denial it is the Mad Galahs.
