Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Caney and Moline after Mass this Sunday, Dec, 3 “Today, prepare your hearts for the “Coming of the Christ Child”. Like the wise men, we have ‘come to worship Him! God is with us, to see and adore; in the Holy Eucharist He remains within us.”
Christmas Schedule: We have back to back Masses on Sunday, Dec 24th. Fourth Sunday of Advent, Mass as follows: No 7 am Mass at Moline, Sedan 9 am; Caney 11 am. Christmas Eve Mass: Moline 11pm; Christmas Day, Dec 25; Moline 7 am, Sedan 9 am and Caney 11 am. Reason for the change is the Diocese states that a priest may not celebrate more than three masses in one day. Jan 1 is not a holy day this year as it falls on Mon.
Christmas Call to Sharing: “Priests play an essential role of sanctifying, teaching and leading. They are servants to all. Very soon you will be receiving an invitation from Bishop Kemme asking you to consider a gift to the Christmas Call To Sharing. Your gift is used to benefit the 46 men currently studying for the priesthood in the Wichita Diocese and the 23 priests in retirement. I would ask you to prayerfully consider a special gift this year to support our priests.” / Gospel Reflection: “Be vigilant, be alert, be watchful! The Lord expects us to watch in in great anticipation for the most important event of all-his return in glory at the end of this present age. Jesus warns us not to be caught off guard when that day arrives, He wants us to have our hearts and minds fixed on Him and his Word.”
Immaculate Conception, Dec 8th is a Holy Day of Obligation. See Mass schedule above for times. The Blessed Virgin is the Patron Saint of America. Mary was conceived without original sin because she was to be the Mother of God. She is full of Grace.
Advent: During the four week Advent season that begins the church year we prepare for the coming of Jesus by remembering his birth in Bethlehem (past), anticipating his coming in glory (future) and by celebrating his coming to us in word and sacrament (present). Everyone should take time each day to pray and reflect on the meaning of Advent
Pope’s Intentions for December: “That the elderly, sustained by families and Christian communities, may apply their wisdom and experience to spreading the faith and forming the new generation.”

“Stewardship” “Who Are You Following?”

“In this first week of Advent, the message is clear: be watchful and ready! When we watch for something, it is an intentional action. It is more than seeing or waiting, which are somewhat passive actions. No, watching is an intentional action in which one is ready to respond. The father of the prodigal son was watchful: ready to immediate respond to his son when he was seen at a distance. The father leaving his home to greet his son. As stewards, we too are watchful to see Jesus in the Advent Season, especially in the people around us.”

Word of Life

“When we encounter Christ, experience his love, and deepen our relationship with Him, we become more aware of our own worth and that of others.” USCCB
