RYA Scotland Annual Awards 2016 Nomination Form

RYA Scotland Annual Awards 2016 – Nomination form

Nominations are now open for the RYA Scotland Annual Awards 2016 and we hope as many people as possible across Scotland will take a few minutes to complete the form and tell us about some of the fantastic work happening in their area. It isn’t all about racing and being the best in the country, the awards are about recognising hard work, commitment, helping others to progress, going above and beyond as well as inspiring others to go on to do great things within our sport.

Whilst we do spend much of the year on the road travelling to all different events, clubs, centres and marinas, we don’t know about much of the work, successes and commitment that are happening behind the scenes. The awards are our chance to hear all those stories, to give recognition and to celebrate all the fantastic things happening in boating and sailing in Scotland.

If you need any help completing the form then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the RYA Scotland office on 0131 317 7388.

The categories are as follows:

  • Coach of the Year
  • Instructor of the Year
  • Official of the Year
  • Club of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Young Person of the Year
  • The Elizabeth Mackay Award – for female endeavours in sailing and boating

The following awards are shortlisted by the RYA Scotland Performance Committee and winners are selected by the awards judging panel:

  • Class Academy Sailor of the Year
  • Youth Sailor of the Year
  • Performance of the Year

The judging panel for the awards will shortlist three people/clubs for each award and will also select the winners. All those shortlisted will be invited to join us at the RYA Scotland Annual Awards Dinner on 28th January 2017 free of charge along with a guest.

The more detail you can give us in your nomination the better informed our judging panel will be. We won’t know everyone and every club who are nominated so we are relying on you to tell us all about why they should be the winner!

Nomination forms should be posted or emailed back to by noon on Monday 31 October 2016.

Forms should be posted to: Caledonia House, 1 Redheughs Rigg, Edinburgh, EH12 9DQ

Alternatively please hand it to a member of RYA Scotland staff to bring back to the office.
