Job Title: / Keelboat & Universities Senior Administrator
Reporting to: / Keelboat Development Manager (KDM)
For BUSA activity – Director of Racing (DoR)

Purpose
To co-ordinate, support and administer keelboat, match and team racing and university activity.
To co-ordinate, facilitate and administer the activities of the British Universities Sailing Association (BUSA) and its committee.
Dimensions
Plan and co-ordinate an annually agreed number of Keelboat, Match and Team Racing events.
Plan and co-ordinate the University Championship events, liaising with the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS).
Review and report on the budgets for Keelboats, and Match with KDM.
Context
The post holder works within the Racing Department.
Keelboats - co-ordinate and administer:
·  the RYA National Match Racing Series (approx. 11 events)
·  the selection of international Match Racing teams representing GBR (Eurosaf/WS/FISU)
·  the British Keelboat Academy programme
·  British Keelboat League (approx. 7 events)
·  the Team Racing development training/programmes/events/team selections
Committee administration for the Match and Team Racing Working Groups.
Point of contact and secretariat for the British Universities Sailing Association.
Accountabilities
Match Racing:
·  To co-ordinate the organisation of the National Match Racing series (approx. 11 events) so that the high standards of RYA run events are maintained. This includes:
o  Preparation and monitoring of the event budget, within agreed parameters
o  Ensuring the relevant information is shared with the venue, sailors, sourcing and appointment of Event Director/Principal Race Officer, umpires prior to the event to ensure that a full team is in operation for the smooth running of the event.
o  Booking of all resources (accommodation, catering, prizes, boats, ribs, course marks, flags and other resources are booked in advance and transported to the venue)
·  To make sure that all RYA run keelboat events are widely circulated (website/facebook) to sailors so that a high profile of competition is maintained.
·  To provide administrative support for the selection and attendance by GBR Match Racing teams at international events.
·  To provide administrative support for the Match Racing Group (indirectly).
Keelboats:
·  To co-ordinate the organisation of the British Keelboat Academy activity. Programme planning, venue booking, entries, squad selection, distributing information, supplying clothing, liaising with coaches who deliver the training. Crewsearch and maintaining the BKA website.
·  To support the KDM with the British Keelboat League events (approx. 7 events).
Team Racing:
·  To co-ordinate, promote and organise the Team Racing development training, including entries, booking venues, resources, coaches, invoices and budgeting.
·  To provide administrative support for the Team Racing Group (directly).
·  To provide administrative support for the selection and attendance by GBR team(s) to international events.
BUSA:
·  To be the point of contact for BUSA sailors and provide continuity for the BUSA committee (whose members change every academic year) by being the permanent RYA member, providing support including the handling of financial accounts.
·  To be the main link between BUSA and BUCS.
·  Provide links for the committee and membership to access support from other areas of the RYA (Sports Development, legal, etc).
·  To maintain the BUSA website and co-ordinate the events programme so that all Universities have access to the latest event listings and competition information. To manage the BUSA Facebook and twitter accounts, ensure the relevant people have access.
·  To manage and co-ordinate the major BUCS Championship events (Fleet, Yachting and Match). Providing support to the Team Racing Championships at the request of the BUSA Technical Delegates.
To co-ordinate and manage the workload of all of the above programmes, ensuring that major clashes are avoided.
