This application must be submitted to the RSPF office or the designated drop-off point (listed at the end of this application) no later than August 14, 2004.

1. Business Idea/Concept. What is your business idea and business plan? What product or service do you propose to sell? Who are your expected customers?
2.Market demand for business. Describe the current market for your products/services. What is the demand for them?
3.Business Promoters/Sponsors. Please describe the party initiating the business plan? (a) Who will lead the execution?, (b) What is their experience in entrepreneurship? (c) What contributions (financial or other) will they commit to this enterprise? And finally, what are their credentials?
4.Implementation period. Expected implementation period of your business plan in years.

5.Execution of business plan. How will you implement your business plan? Describe the activities/steps your plan will undertake to realize its objective(s) including design, production, service provision, marketing, distribution, or any other major initiatives. Describe where the business is/will be located and what infrastructure is currently in place. Include information on what has been done already toward execution of the business plan (ex: land acquisition, purchase of equipment, etc.)
6.Innovation of business. What elements of your business are innovative or different from what is currently available in Rwanda? Describe your advantage over current products/services of other major competitors.
7.Use of borrowed funds. If you are selected as a winner, how much money do you anticipate borrowing? What do you propose to use the borrowed funds for?
8. Technical Assistance. If you are selected as a winner, what sort of technical assistance or capacity building would be useful to help you launch/sustain/expand your business?
Business Plan Costs
If you are selected as a winner of the Rwanda Business Plan Competition, you will receive a financial reward in the form of a loan. Describe the activities/expenses that these funds will support.
  1. The calculations below should only cover costs of the proposed business idea
  2. For each category, describe the major breakdown of costs. (For example, number of staff to be hired, number of computers to be purchased, expected amount of raw materials needed, etc.)
  3. Units should be in Rwandan currency only. Do not use decimals or commas.
  4. Any applicable taxes (if any) should be included as part of the budget.
