Regulations

(The choice of materials and sizes up to the contestants)

Category 1: Students and Young Artists
Graphics / Painting / Decorativeandappliedarts
The first age group (17-21 years)
One artwork of any genre: still-life, portrait, an artwork of a free theme. / Still-life / An artwork of a free theme.
The second age group (22-35 years)
One artwork of any genre: a human figure (nude or dressed),
an artwork of a free theme. / An artwork of a free theme. / An artwork of a free theme.
Category 2: Professional Artists
(school and college teachers, no age limit)
One artwork of any genre: still-life, portrait, an artwork of a free theme. / An artwork of a free theme. / An artwork of a free theme.
Category 3: Teacher and Pupil
The teachers of the winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes are to be rewarded with diplomas.

Organisation of the Contest Exhibition

The first round takes place in schools, artistic unions and places of the contestants’ work.

The second round is a contest selection of the works.

The works are to be sent in electronic shape. The size: up to 300 kB, format jpeg. Deadline: September 20, 2013.

The name of the file should include the title of the work, the date it was made, the sizes, and the name of the author.

Technical Requirements

  1. The works should meet the following requirements. Painting:canvasonastretcher.Graphics: passe-partout. Decorativeandappliedarts:thewallworksshouldbesuppliedwithreliableearsontheirbacksidesto hang them (thesizeoftheworksmaynotexceed 1,500 mm.) Specialshow-caseswillbeplacedatdisposalforsmall plastic works and podiums for decorative compositions and sculptures.
  2. Shipmentoftheworksis to be attheparticipants’ expense in both directions. The Organisational Committee takes care of package and shipment of the works from Vladivostok.
  3. All the works should be supplied with the description in Russian or English, the latter being a label of 7 to 3 cm placed in the right lower corner containing the following data:

• Name, family name (name, patronymic, family name for the Russians.)

• Dateofbirth, age.

• School (address, telephone, e-mailaddress.)

• City, country.

• The title of the work.

• The year the work was done.

• Techniques.

• Thesize.

• Thecontestant’stelephoneande-mailaddress.

• The name of the teacher if the contestant is a student.

Judgment and Awards

The artworks will be selected by a professional jury, whose the members will be appointed by the Organisational Committee. Winners will be determined in three categories: drawing, painting, and decorative and applied works in the three above-stated categories. The awards are Grand-Prix, 1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd prize, and Diploma (4th prize).

Judgment criteria: professional skill and artistic expressiveness. The contest artworks will be judged according to ten-point system.

Financial Conditions

The organisation of the exhibition and the publication of the catalogue are at the expense of the hosting side. The representatives of schools will be invited to the exhibition, whereas the authors of the artwork may be present at their will. Mission expenditures are to be covered by sending institutions. The participants of the second round will be sent the catalogues of the contest exhibition.

October 1-10. Admittance of works into the exhibition.

October 10 – 20. Staging the exhibition.

October 20 – November 4. The opening of the exhibition, awarding winners.
