Functional Area: Budget / Run Budget Overview Report
Purpose
Use this procedure to display the Budget Overview Report.
Trigger
Perform this procedure when you need to display the Budget Overview Report.
Prerequisites
None
Menu Path
Use the following menu path to begin this transaction:
  • Select Financial Reports and DisplayLedgerFMBudgetFMRP_RW_BUDGET – Budget Report.

Helpful Hints
  • The R/O/C column in the field description tables below defines whether the field is required (R), optional (O), or conditional (C).
  • On certain screens you may have to scroll to view some data entry fields.

Procedure
1. / Start the transaction using the menu path or transaction code.
Budget Report: Selection

2. / As required, complete/review the following fields:
Field / R/O/C / Description
Financial Management Area / Required / The organizational unit within a company where budgets and financial resources are planned; Financial management areas can be assigned to one or more company codes. When investment accounting is being used, the controlling areas involved must be assigned to a financial management area.

Budget Category / Required / Used to distinguish between the different ledgers - Payment Budget & Commitment Budget - in which the budget data is stored

Version / Required / In planning, versions are maintained to represent multiple scenarios based on different assumptions and conditions.

Fiscal Year / Required / The fiscal year for which this transaction is relevant

/ The fields offers a further filter for the data to be reported. These fields are optional, allowing a group (set) to be specified, or a single value (or single value range). The data can be filtered on any Group that exists for Fund, Funds Center, Commitment Item, Functional Area, or Funded Program. The filter can also be set by single values (or single value ranges) of the FM objects, Fund, Funds Center, Commitment Item, Functional Area, or Funded Program. You can use a single selection of any of these FM objects, or you can filter on a combination of the objects, i.e. Fund and Funds Center or Fund and Functional Area, etc.

4. / Right-click in the Current Budget column.

5. / Select Column attributes... .

6. / As required, complete/review the following fields:

Column width / Required / Distance between columns

By changing the column width to 15 or lower, all of the columns will fit on one screen eliminating the need to scroll to the next screen just to see the Transfer Receiver column.
7. / Click .
Budget Report

8. / Perform any of the following:

Turn the navigation pane off or on / Click .
Sort a column in ascending order / 1. Click on the column which you want to sort.
2. Click .
Sort a column in descending order / 1. Click on the column which you want to sort.
2. Click .
View further expansion of the data / Click to the left of the Funds center / commitment item column.
Collapse or roll up the exploded data / Click to the left of the Funds center / commitment item column.
Filter the report by selected variations / 1. Click on a characteristic in the Variation: Characteristics field located in the upper left portion of the screen.
2. Click on the attribute displayed in the Variation: XXXX field (according to your selection in Step 1).
/ In the navigation pane to the left of the screen, , Functional Area , Fund and Funded Program are all included in the report as variations, allowing the numbers to be displayed overall, or for them to be narrowed down by any or all of these characteristics. The following table defines the column headings.
