ECB UNDER 15 and UNDER 13 NATIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP2018 COMPETITIONS

STAFFORDSHIRE UNDER 11 COUNTY CUP COMPETITION FOR 2018 COMPETITIONS

These rules apply to the Staffordshire County section of the above competitions –

see the relevant ECB competition rules for the ECB

Under 15 and Under 13 National Competitions)

GENERAL

1. The competitions shall be administered by Staffordshire Cricket Limited (SCL) and be organised by the

same.

2.The competitions shall be open to all clubs affiliated to SCL. Any clubs not affiliated to SCL but playing in SCL Junior Leagues may apply in writing to the SCL for inclusion.

The competitions shall encompass all the relevant ECB Safeguarding, Fair Play and Equity Policies and all

participating clubs shall ensure that everyone connected with their club is aware of the relevant requirements.

4. Any disputes shall be referred to Staffordshire Cricket and shall be submitted in writingwithin 24 hours of the dispute arising. Any appeals against the findings shall be heard by the SCL

5.Entrance fees shall be £15 per team per competition, £30 if all age groups entered. Cheques shall accompany the relevant application form.

FIXTURES AND RESULTS.

6. Matches shall be played on the ground of the home team on a date to be agreed between the relevant teams, the

away ground shall be utilised in order to complete the match by the designated completion date.

The designated completion date for each cup round shall be as stated on the cup draw. This date is the last date for the tie to be played by, please arrange the games early so that if there is bad weather the tie can still be rearranged before the completion date. The dates are set and have to be adhered too it meet ECB set dates for national competitions

Teams shall agree a date for the relevant match, together with a back-up date and these dates shall be communicated to the organiser by email to , at least 7 days prior to the game in order for the play cricket site to be updated to record the results.

In the event of a match not being played on either of the original or back-up dates then further dates shall be agreed before the designated completion date of that round of the competition.

In the event of the teams not being able to agree a date for the match to be played then the home side must offer the away side three dates to allow the match to be completed by the designated completion date for that round. The away side must accept one of the offered dates within 24 hours of receiving the offer. In the event of either side failing to meet these requirements then their opponents will progress to the next round. In the event of weather conditions preventing the match being played within the designated period the match shall be decided by the toss of a coin or, or by each player of each team bowling at an unguarded wicket, the winning team being the team with the most wickets broken. In the event of a tie, when all players have bowled, then sudden death will apply with each team having bowled the same number of balls.

The organisers reserve the right to eliminate one or both teams if they feel that insufficient effort has been made to play the match by the due date.

7 On completion of the match the home teamshall, within 48 hours, be responsible for uploadingthe result with full scorecard details onto their club website and shall confirm the result is correct.

It shall then be the responsibility of the away team, within a further 48 hours, to upload the result with full scorecard details on their own club website.

After a match result is uploaded the opposition are to confirm the result is correct on their clubweb site which will then be locked. In the event of an uploadedresult not being confirmed by the oppositionwithin7 days of the fixture, the organiser will lock the web site result. The result of the game including scores should also be emailed to , within 24 hours of the games completion.

8. In the event of the scores being level at the end of the match the team taking more wickets shall be declared the

winners. If both teams have lost an equal number of wickets the team with the highest score at the end of the

penultimate over (and so on counting down until a decision is reached) shall be the winner

QUALIFICATION

9. Players must be under the age of 15, 13 or 11, as relevant at midnight on 31st August of the preceding year. All

players must be bona-fide junior members of the club they represent and registered on Play-Cricket and also play for the club in SCL Junior Leagues or equivalent that the club enters. A player may play for only one club in the competitions in any one season, this includes playing for other clubs in other county competitions (NB if a club enters two teams they must be treated as separate clubs).

Girls will be allowed to play up to one year beyond the particular age group (i.e. Under 16 years of age in the Under 15 competition etc).

GENERAL PLAYING CONDITIONS.

10.Under 15 Competition

Players in a team – 11

Length of match – one innings of maximum 20 overs, minimum 10 overs each side. if less than 10 overs of

the second innings have been completed the match shall be declared as “no result” and shall be resolved

as set out in Rule 6. If more than 10 overs of the second innings have been completed the result of the

match shall be decided by the faster scoring rate of the overs completed.

Limit on bowlers – 4 overs maximum

Limit on batsmen – 50 runs not to return. Innings may continue if retirement would end the innings

i.e. the last pair are at the wicket

Pitch length – 22 yards.

Ball size – 5 ½ oz

11.Under 13 Competition

Players in a team – 11

Length of match – one innings of maximum 20 overs, minimum 10 overs each side. if less than 10 overs of

the second innings have been completed the match shall be declared as “no result” and shall be resolved

as set out in Rule 6. If more than 10 overs of the second innings have been completed the result of the

match shall be decided by the faster scoring rate of the overs completed.

Limit on bowlers – 4 overs maximum

Limit on batsmen – 50 runs not to return. Innings may continue if retirement would end the innings

i.e. the last pair are at the wicket

Pitch length – 21 yards.

Ball size – 4 ¾ oz.

12.Under 11 Competition

Players in a team – 11

Length of match – one innings of maximum 20 overs, minimum 10 overs each side. if less than 10 overs of

the second innings have been completed the match shall be declared as “no result” and shall be resolved

as set out in Rule 6. If more than 10 overs of the second innings have been completed the result of the

match shall be decided by the faster scoring rate of the overs completed.

Limit on bowlers – 4 overs maximum

Limit on batsmen – 30 runs not to return. Innings may continue if retirement would end the innings

i.e. the last pair are at the wicket

Pitch length – 17 yards.

Ball size – 4 ¾ oz.

13. Matches to start as early as possible, no later than 6.00 pm in April, 6.30pm in May and June.

14.(i) Each club shall provide a competent adult umpire. Umpires shall wear white coats or at least light coloured clothing

(ii) Each club shall provide a competent scorer who will ensure that the scoreboard is kept up to date at all times.

(iii) The score box or a score board of acceptable standard i.e. showing runs, wickets,overs and firstinnings as a minimum shall be made available and the score kept up to date. Sight screens shall also be available and in position before the start of the match

(iv) The home club shall provide two cricket balls of approved manufacture and of equal quality; they shall be made available prior to the commencement of the match. It is recommended that Pink cricket balls are used for evening games. The away team shall select the ball they wish to bowl with, the other being used by the home team. Should either ball become unfit for play it may be replaced with one which has had a reasonable amount of similar wear.

(v) Coloured uniforms for players is allowed to be worn, and is a recommendation from the ECB that clubs use coloured uniforms if possible.

15(i) The wicketkeeper shall be nominated before all matches and shall not be changed during a match except in the event of injury.

(ii) No fielder shall be allowed to field within 10 metres of the player batting except behind the wicket on the off side.

16(i)In the event of bad weather preventing any possibility of play, the home side must contact the away side as soon as possible. The home side shall do everything possible to ensure that the match is played but if the game has to be called off due to the conditions the home sides’ decision shall be final. (ii)In the event of bad weather delaying the start, the Umpires shall decide the number of overs to be bowled by each side (not less than 10) before the sides toss up, each side to bat for an equal number of overs. No match may start later than 7.45pm.

17 The finals of all competitions will be played on neutral grounds where possible, and Umpires will be supplied by SCL along with cricket balls for the games. Once Finalists are known the organiser will advise if a neutral ground can be found, if not he will advise where the final should be played after consultation with the clubs involved.
