INDICATOR DESCRIPTION:

% of adults (18+) who’velooked at inspection reports in the past year, by establishment type.

INDICATOR OBJECTIVES:

To compare report access across the types of establishments included in disclosure programs.

ANALYSIS CHECK LIST:

  • Denominator is adults (18+) who’ve accessed reports in the past year (gphid_rpt1=1)
  • Response options are not mutually exclusive, as respondents can list as many types of establishments that they recall, thus categories cannot simply be added together.
  • “Top of mind” measurement will favour the most commonly accessed reports, potentially resulting in artificially low results for less common types of establishments.
  • Not all response options are valid for each region, empty response options are expected for regions where that type of establishment is not included in the disclosure program.
  • Text file for ghpid_rpt3_00=1, other (specify), requires separate analysis, and these responses should be reclassified into the appropriate OPHS-based indicator.
  • The indicator is categorized around the Ontario Public Health Standards, however health units can customize the numerator(s) to better match their disclosure goals.
