Role Purpose

To support testing and research work.

Key Accountabilities

Key Result Areas / Key Accountabilities
Laboratory work / ·  To ensure that all analytical tests, methods and validation procedures, records and test results are completed as required by Laboratory's Quality Systems Manuals.
·  To carry out routine tests within the required time frames and within employment contract work time agreements.
·  To train other staff where appropriate
·  To ensure the maintenance of equipment for the Laboratory and ensure their smooth and safe operation. Complete Laboratory housekeeping tasks as agreed.
·  To ensure the Customer satisfaction is assured in the most effective, efficient and courteous way.
·  To prepare for and participate in Cawthron's performance management process and the Laboratory's regular review meetings.
·  To participate in training and professional development as identified in the review meetings so that best practices are applied.
·  To encourage active communication and listening within the Laboratory and Cawthron.
·  To carry out all work, and to behave at all times within the Cawthron employment contract confidentiality agreement.
·  To care for and maintain Laboratory equipment, property, and consumables up to agreed standards.
·  Clear communication with other team members
·  Entering information on computer system
·  Any other tasks requested by your Supervisor
Health&Safety / ·  Adhere to Cawthron Health & Safety Policy and Procedures

Person Specification

·  BSc or equivalent (e.g. Diploma in Sciencelevel 6)

·  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commercial laboratory environment

·  General laboratory skills

·  Use of balances, pipettes and laboratory tools

·  Knowledge and experience with automated laboratory instrumentation
