Job Title: Regional Manager East
Fundraising & Communications Department
Responsible To: Development Manager
(Working from Home)
RABI helps people of limited means in times of financial need. We help working farmers and farmworkers in emergencies, for example following illness, accident, bereavement, family breakdown or animal disease and offer long term help to elderly and/or disabled people.
Support includes one off or regular grants as well as payment for things like lifeline alarms, mobility aids, essential household goods and temporary labour.
In addition we run two residential homes, help with home-help costs and residential home fees and our Gateway project helps people to develop skills to supplement their income.
RABI currently employ 10 Regional Managers covering England and Wales.
Outline
Working under the direction of the Development Manager you will promote R.A.B.I and increase awareness, support and income in and from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire.
General Responsibilities:
· To generate income from multiple sources
· To publicise the work of R.A.B.I to the general public, farming and related organisations, and companies via meetings, presentations, attendance at local agricultural shows and through the local press as agreed by the Development Manager.
· To increase awareness of the charity within the farming community to enable R.A.B.I to reach more potential beneficiaries.
· To encourage and support existing voluntary county groups and recruit new members where necessary.
· Any other appropriate duties required to fulfil the needs of the Charity.
Specific Responsibilities
· To maintain on-going relationships with corporate organisations in the farming industry and beyond, and identify new opportunities.
· To proactively identify and pursue other fundraising opportunities in the region.
· To work in conjunction with other agencies and farming related organisations to raise awareness of the work of R.A.B.I to both our supporters and those who may need assistance.
· To support and encourage county committees in their fundraising activities, attend committee meetings, recruit new members where necessary, confirm membership and appointments, and update Head Office with any changes or additions.
· To attend appropriate regional shows, setting up and manning the R.A.B.I stand.
· To represent R.A.B.I at networking events to ensure that the charity’s voice is heard.
· In conjunction with the Development Manager and Head of F&C, develop relationships with the local media and issue press releases as appropriate.
· To keep head office informed of all major activities to allow R.A.B.I to capitalise on those events for publicity purposes.
· To provide appropriate articles for inclusion in the R.A.B.I News (quarterly newsletter), the charity’s website and social media.
· To provide a monthly report to the Development Manager detailing activities / contacts made, outcomes and follow up actions.
· To ensure Microsoft office calendar is up to date.
· To attend R.A.B.I’s AGM.
· To attend regional quarterly meetings at Head Office or other locations from time to time.
Person Specification
Qualities
· A self starter
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Proven track record in the fundraising field
· A knowledge of the farming community
· Flexible approach to work
· Working knowledge of Microsoft office package and databases
· Experience in public speaking
· Experience in dealing with press enquiries

The role
Flexibility to work unsociable hours will be necessary to fulfil this role, for example attending County Committee meetings which normally take place in the evening.
An integral part of the role is to promote RABI at relevant regional shows and events, often held at weekends. No overtime will be paid for this as the salary for this position reflects the requirement of weekend working.
A CRB check will be required for the successful applicant.
