ROWNER COMMUNITY TRUST

The Trust aims to further the social, economic and environmental interests of the local community and is owned and controlled by local residents and community organisations.The Rowner Renewal Partnership has supported the establishment of the community trust as an organisation which will continue community regeneration after the completion of the physical redevelopment work.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  1. To support and develop the strategic planning of the Board
  1. To develop and manage contracts for estate management
  1. To lead the development of new community project activity
  1. To secure and manage the Trust’s resources
  1. To oversee and develop the community centre, facilities and activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide leadership to staff and volunteers and ensure appropriate support and development.
  1. Manage, co ordinate and implement existing and new business activity of the organisation.
  1. Apply community development principles and practice to the development of the Trust
  1. Work in partnership with other organisations and with key stakeholders.
  1. To work with the Board to develop new business opportunitieswhich ensure sustainability of the organisation
  1. Oversee the financial management for all aspects of income and expenditure, budget setting, cash flow and organisational costs.
  1. Oversee the preparation of financial management reports to guide day to day management and for the Board of Directors.
  1. To develop and implement robust financial controls and systems for all financial procedures.
  1. Act as Company Secretary to the Board.
  1. To ensure all aspects of project planning support a programme of development of high quality bids for grants, contracts and tenders.
  1. To procure and co-ordinate all contracts and SLAs ensuring that regular monitoring of the services provided is carried out and payments to partners are made within agreed parameters.
  1. Oversee the implementation and evaluation of quality monitoring systems.
  1. To represent the organisation as required and deliver presentations which enhance the reputation of the organisation.
  1. To liaise with the Rowner Renewal Partnership over all community legacy issues.
  1. Develop appropriate policies and procedures for board approval and ensure implementation, monitoring and review.
  1. Provide regular written reports on work undertaken as requested by the Board and contribute to the establishment of appropriate policies, priorities and goals in relation to the development of the organisation.
  1. To personally act, and ensure that staff and service delivery comply withaccepted professional standards, the Trust's policies and procedures and appropriate legislation (including legislation on equalities, health and safety and safeguarding children/vulnerable adults).
