Psalm of the week
Personal meditation / Thank you My lord for everything. What a great God you are my marvelous Father… you teach the blinds to write and read and yet to be able to see your presence. My Lord Jesus who gave saint Didymus insight but not sight and yet he was able to see your present at all the time and was very spiritual. Do I who have the blessing of eyes able to see you at all the time? I need your guidance and light in my heart and life my father to be able to see you, please my lord come and dwell in my heart and make me able to see you and be able to glorify your name my holy father even if I don’t have the ability to do all things. I need your blessing in the little of what I have to be able to resemble you as a good Christian and glorify your holy name. Please my loving lord cleans my heart and come to dwell in it.

Saint Didymus the seer story:
Meaning of Seer?
Someone can’t see with his eyes but he can feel ‘see’ with his heart à insight.
•  He lost his vision when he was 4 years old.
•  His name means “Thomas” or “The Twin”.
•  He wasn’t able to do many things like playing, reading, writing or even walking.
•  He prayed not for a bodily sight but for a spiritual insight
•  Although he lost his vision, but he didn’t lose his trust in
•  God. He had faith that God would never leave him. He loved God so much.
•  St. Didymus engraved the letters on pieces of wood, and with his fingers he was able to read.
•  God gave him a very good memory. He was able to memorize a large portion of the Holy Bible.
•  He also learned music, grammar and other sciences in a short amount of time.
He was a good friend of the great St. Anthony, the father of the monks.
Ask the kids what does it mean for them:
“Don’t be sad because you lost the bodily eyes but rather rejoice that God gave you a spiritual sight like that of the angels with which you can attain the true knowledge.”
Conclusion / What to learn from St. Didymus the Seer?
•  Love and Trust in God
•  Have faith in him….even reading and writing many books for the blinds
•  Pray to God to put light in our hearts to see things that we can’t see with our eyes.
