Profession/Business: Loin Cloth Manufacturer

Chester was born in 1949 in Christiana, British Honduras (now Belize) to medical missionary parents sent by the English Anglican Church to treat the then English colonists. As a child he spent many happy days swimming and diving in the clear waters of the Caribbean before being sent to live with his grandparents in International Falls, Minnesota; where the winter temperature often dipped well below zero. It was a shock, but he learned to enjoy the bracing winters and eventually received his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota in Duluth. After several years of selling pajamas to retail clothing outlets, he returned to help his parents in Central America. He quickly realized that the loin cloth industry had a great future in countries where the weather is always warm and near-nudity is not considered a sin of moral turpitude. With a loan from his parents, he started a small factory in an unused garage and developed his best markets in the American Pacific Northwest. In 1982, Chester chose Yakima as the new headquarters of a company that will always just serve a niche market. Yakima has a good network of roads and connections to places that buy their products and he and his wife had liked the area when vacationing nearby several years previously. Heis married to Lily, a native of Oklahoma, and they have 3 children (Eric, Joan, and Emilie) and 2 cats (Hortense and Mr. K). He loves to hike, collect hotel sugar packets, and needlepoint while watching Minnesota sports. He is also an amateur tattoo artist specializing in lower back work.
