Highlights include information on club make-ups, Monte Carlo Night, and the McLean Chocolate Festival
Announcements:
  • Carmen Martinez announced that several meeting places for make-ups has changed, the information is at the website.
  • Vance Zavela mentioned that Monte Carlo Night is November 4, and tickets are for sale now. Ralf Berthiez is accepting Silent Auction items for Monte Carlo Night.
  • Dana Sippel announced that the McLean Chocolate Festival is coming up.
  • Todd Dempsey announced that By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation changes will be voted on at the November 14 meeting.
Happy Talk:
  • Vance Zavela noted that today is the anniversary of the day he and Pamela Danner joined Rotary 17 years ago.
  • Dale Lazar is happy to have moved his office to Reston Town Center.
  • Bob Rosenbaum is happy about article in Rotarian about the Great Falls Club.
  • Dana Sippel is happy about October 22 walk-a-thon for benefit of an ill church member.
  • Tom Mangan is happy his wife Ling has designed a jewelry piece for the Monte Carlo Night auction.
  • Paul Ward is happy his daughter is visiting from Kenya.
  • Michael DeRose recently dined at Brasserie Becque and recommends it.
  • Ralf Berthiez spent the weekend as a judge for a Concoursd’Elegance.
  • Steve Swift hiked with his family near St. George, Utah and had a horrendous rattlesnake encounter, happily no one was hurt.
  • John McEvilly had breaking news via his cell phone during the meeting, his granddaughter was born during Happy Talk.
  • Anne Vandemark is heading to Sarasota soon, she recently has been to Europe and Sedona, AZ.
  • Bill Stell married off another granddaughter.
  • Ed Shahin is happy the Nationals finished the season in third place.
