Board Meeting August 6, 2010

Minutes

Members Present: Durane Castleberry, Leslie Clay, Happy Franklin, Krista Hartman, Greg Larrick,

Alicia Slay and Martha Watson

President Leslie Clay called the meeting to order at 7:30 am

Minutes ~ were approved from prior board meeting. Happy motioned and Greg L. seconded.

Finances ~ Leslie gave a short summary. We exceeded our budget by $324.26 and our cash increased approximately $776.

Membership ~ Happy is actively recruiting prospective members. Doug Harvey, Hoshi Kamiya and Sonja Borda are a few of our most recent interested inquiries.

Greenhouse~ November 13th has been set for a concert date via OLUMC.

Foundation Report ~ none available at the time of August Board Meeting.

Programs ~ none available at the time of August Board Meeting.

Fundraising Report ~ Sissy Littlefield is working on the February 10th Casino Night information for the club. Alicia Slay reported on the joint Rotary Fashion Benefit Luncheon with East Dallas Rotary; location was being set and invitations created. Volunteers were being sought to help with the fashion show.

Social Report ~ Durane reported that Sissy Littlefield’s and Krista Hartman’s residences have been offered as locations for future socials. He and Sissy are still working on a prospective social event at LonestarPark

Service Report ~ Leslie announced that Hope Cottage has an event scheduled Sunday, December 5th from 2pm-4pm as a volunteer opportunity for our club members. Martha reminded us that OLUMC still appreciates our volunteers.

Meeting Location Report ~Durane and Krista were narrowing the list down for the Board. Hully and Moe’s was mentioned as a lead prospect. OLUMC is still willing to host the Club in the interim, but the consensus was to have a new location September 1st. The discussion let to the agreement of a Special Telephone Board Meeting Conference Call set for August 23rd that would be for the voting of our new meeting location.

Public Relations Report ~. none available at the time of August Board Meeting.

Other News ~ Due to the Labor Day Holiday weekend, Leslie motioned we move our September Board Meeting to September 10th. Martha seconded. Motion was unanimously approved.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 am
