Volunteer Role Description

Solace Women’s Aid is an independent charity providing services to women and children who have been victims of domestic and /or sexual violence.

Role Title: / Volunteer Co-ordinator assistant volunteer

Commitment: / 1 full day or 2 half days
Duration: / 6 months minimum
Role Description: / We are looking for a volunteer to provide administration support for our volunteer service. You will be working directly with the volunteer coordinator.
Tasks will include database support such as data entry and running reports. Supporting the recruitment process of volunteers by providing information, collating application forms, organising interviews and providing feedback. Creating the volunteer bulletin.
You will provide support in organising training and events for volunteers. You will also be responsible for collecting feedback on volunteer events held and finding ways to improve for future events. Attending events and other tasks as and as when required.
This is a great role for a volunteer who would like experience of the volunteer process within the charity sector and ideally for someone who is interested in becoming a trainer/volunteer coordinator.

Skills and Qualifications Required: / ·  Experience in administration tasks, in particular maintaining databases
·  Experience in planning and organising events
·  An understanding of or interest in domestic violence and its impacts on women and their children
·  An ability to work independently
·  Good time management skills
·  Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
·  An ability to work to deadlines
·  Creative
·  Good computer skills
·  Enthusiastic and motivated
·  Strong commitment to the values, aims and ethos of Solace Women’s Aid
Training Opportunities: / Volunteers will be able to access Solace Women’s Aid’s induction and internal training programme for volunteers. Full support will be given to help volunteers understand and carry out any aspect of the role as appropriate.
