Services/work required / The Senior Data Analyst will be part of a team of other data analysts, database designers, and ETL developers working on a range of IPA projects.
The primary role is to analyse and document the requirements for migrating data from one source to another.
The responsibilities of the Senior Data Analyst will include
- Analysis of the data in the legacy system and identifying the equivalent data structures and data in the target system.
- Identify and specify any transformation required for the data to be transferred to the new system.
- Undertake data profiling of the legacy system to identify any problems that would prohibit data migration and develop necessary cleansing rules.
- Specify the mapping of data from source to target and the development of specifications that allow ETL developers to create the necessary migration software and testers to validate the ETL software developed.
- Identify and specify any requirements for successful data migration that are outside the scope of ETL. An example would be data that must be manually corrected.
- Assist other team members with data issues relating to the source or target systems.
- Being proactive in the resolution of problems that arise.
- Mentoring less-experienced Data Analysts.
Additional information / For this role our client have stated that they may impose penalties should the successful candidate terminate this agreement early due to the nature of this environment.
Other Requirements / This role has been deemed Entry Only Level (no Australian Government Security Clearance is required).

- Experience in data analysis and modelling.
