Role Profile: Drupal Developer

Line Manager: IT Manager

Purpose of the role: Working with the key stakeholders within New Wine, this role will provide both maintenance and continued development of the database and website.

Roles & Responsibilities (%):

Drupal Database and Web Development 50%

To be the Drupal champion within NW; leading and advancing the drupal usage.

In partnership with NW stakeholders, help set the direction of the NW website and database developments.

Responsible for various aspects of ongoing support and maintenance programmes as required.

Proactive in New Wine’s pursuit of Drupal technology – must be able to monitor industry trends, technologies and standards and be able to research, recommend and apply new technologies as necessary.

Ensure that the layout of all content is accessible and logical and recommend improvements as necessary.

Technical 25%

To provide website technical leadership and assume overall accountability for a successful implementation of all website and databasework.

Ensures technical solutions are properly architected and specified, and reviews all code for quality assurance purposes.

Resolves and/or escalates technical issues in a timely fashion.

Communication 25%

Effective collaboration with the stakeholdersand staff during the creative process

Develop good relationships with staff, external support organisations and other developers.

To deliver training as required.

Deliver engaging, informative and well organised presentations as required

Strong interpersonal skills and can deal tactfully with individuals, gaining cooperation from a broad spectrum of staff/individuals

  • Proficient in Drupal site development including custom module development, contributed and core modules
  • Proficient in the maintenance and administration of drupal modules and sites
  • Understand web trends, including social media integration and the impact of the growth of mobile/tablet browsing
  • Knowledgeable in the area of web content management systems

Knowledge /
  • A minimum of three years experience in web design and database management
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, DHTML, XHTML
  • Advanced knowledge of CSS
  • Knowledge of Javascript
  • Advanced knowledge of digital imaging
  • Experience with Adobe Flash
  • Experience with online digital media including HD video and digital compression technologies
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross browser and cross platform issues

  • BS in computer science or equivalent work experience

Additional information:

  • Salary: £25-30,000 per annum full time (depending on experience)
  • Hours: Willing to discuss between 22.5-37.5 per week
  • Holidays:21per annum (plus bank holidays)
  • Contributory pension scheme (2% employee/5% employer)
