Comcare partners with workers, their employers and unions to keep workers healthy and safe, and reduce the incidence and cost of workplace injury and disease. We implement the Australian Government's policies in federal workplaces to drive social inclusion and productivity.
In 2018, a network infrastructure project is scheduled to replace data centre switching, LAN/WAN, wireless infrastructure and load balances and internal firewalls.
Comcare is looking to engage a contractor to baseline Comcare’s current network infrastructure systems and to provide the necessary design advice and solution designs to meet Comcare’s future needs.
Key activities will include;
·  Providing subject matter expertise - Provide Comcare with knowledge of the options available to meet its requirements.
·  Align systems with technology strategy - Understand technology roadmaps and assist in developing solutions that both align with the roadmaps and leverage opportunities from evolving and future technologies
·  Solution design - Deliver quality end-to-end system designs specifications that meet the user needs.
Role responsibilities:
·  Analyse Comcare’s existing Network architecture and Network architecture documentation
·  Identify and document gaps in existing documentation
·  Consolidate all documentation to provide an overarching current state view of Comcare’s network architecture
·  Analyse and document Comcare’s desired future state Network architecture based on Comcare’s ICT Strategic Plan and guidance from key internal Stakeholders
·  Provide recommendations and guidance on industry technologies, platforms and operating models
·  Document requirements to meet the proposed future state architecture, with emphasis on the following forward planned asset replacement projects: Network Data Switching, Network LAN, Network WAN and Wireless access points for all offices
Skills & experience:
·  Demonstrated understanding of industry standards
·  Experience as a network architect is essential
·  Must have a proven track record of successful delivery of complex Information Communications Technology (ICT)-enabled and business projects
·  Demonstrated experience in providing technical network recommendations and advice at Executive Levels.
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives,
managers, and subject matter experts.

Role Overview:

Comcare seeks a motivated, determined and driven individual who wants to make a difference and own an exciting project end-to-end.

The Project Manager will have a good understanding of Commonwealth ICT procurement process and policies, be experienced in preparing technical specifications and commercial requirements for tender and contract development; for an Application Programme Interface (API) Gateway project.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the efficient management of the project this includes but is not limited to;

·  controlling project scope,

·  developing and maintaining the project schedule,

·  managing budgets, risks and issues,

·  change requests, facilitating the development of change management;

·  communication plans

·  providing regular reporting on the project status.

The Application Programming Interface (API) Gateway project will be delivered in a two-phase approach.

Phase one will consist of analysis and development of Comcare’s technical and business requirements, identification of key stakeholders and dependencies with other key projects. Phase one will also include the development of an architectural design and prepare required documentation to undertake the Request for Tender (RFT) process, this includes developing tender evaluation and probity plans in accordance with procurement policies and procedures.

The results from the RFT process will then form the basis for delivering the second phase of the project which will require the Project Manager to develop of a new business case.

Comcare’s application landscape is currently a mix of legacy in-house and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications that deliver various core services to internal and external customers.

The project intends to deliver an integration layer that will enable and simplify the data integration, interfacing and service provisioning capabilities of Comcare applications, it will also reduce delivery costs and time to deliver.

The Project Manager, supported by an experienced Business Analyst, will aim to deliver by June 2018.

Key activities of the project team will include;

·  Providing subject matter expertise - Provide Comcare with knowledge of the options available to meet its requirements.

·  Developing tender documentation for the approach to market.

·  Solution design - deliver quality end-to-end system design specifications that meets the business requirements.

Role responsibilities:

·  Manage the API Gateway project

·  Adhere to Comcare’s Project Management Framework, including managing project via MS Project Server and (Jumpstart Reporting tool)

·  Work with key stakeholders to gather key requirements

·  Analyse requirements and document Comcare’s desired future state API requirements in consultation with the Business Analyst.

·  Prepare and maintain procurement documentation for the project in consultation with Comcare’s Procurement team. Including the Procurement plan, tender documentation and evaluation plan.

·  Provide recommendations and guidance on industry technologies, platforms to Executive.

Skills & experience:

·  Min 5 years of experience preparing tender documentation and running end-to-end tendering processes

·  Experience working on Applications Integration with proven API skills

·  Ability to problem solve and think innovatively

·  Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts

·  Ability to work independently across a range of business lines, and not rely on other team members for direction
