Clúid has 122 staff to ensure that it has the capacity to meet this mission. To date Clúid has provided 4,924 properties to low income families and single people in housing need all over Ireland.

Working as part of the Housing Management Team the Caretaker will be responsible for providing a consistent thorough caretaking housing service to our current residents. The Caretaker will also be responsible for improving and developing the current services, providing a more face to face supportive role to customers. The Caretaker will ensure that the schemes managed by Clúid are environmentally safe, clean and cared for to a high standard.

The post requires a good level of general DIY repairs skills and an ability to deal with outside agencies regarding deadlines, costs, quality control and problem solving.

Role Overview: The caretaker is employed to ensure the schemes managed are environmentally safe, clean and are cared for to a high standard.
Reporting to: Housing Officer
Key responsibilities
Develop and deliver a rota and keep the communal areas within the scheme clean to a high standard
Regular Health and Safety checks on communal areas
Checking of communal lighting and the replacement of bulbs as required
To be available in the event of emergencies outside of office opening hours
Identification and reporting of repairs and hazards
Checking all lifts and phone entry systems (Apartments)
Provision of routine advice and assistance to tenants
To act as a keyholder for community buildings
To remove graffiti
Regular patrolling of the scheme, identifying and reporting faults
Grass cutting, hedge pruning, plant maintenance, weed killer treatments and minor planting in communal areas
Purchase and storage of cleaning materials and equipment for communal areas
To liaise with external agencies as required
To undertake minor repairs as specified (eg: lock changes, small plaster repairs, painting & decorating, carpentry repairs etc.)
To clean out newly vacated dwellings
To carry out set procedures as directed for the removal of domestic waste
To report an arrange the removal of abandoned vehicles on schemes
To arrange the removal of bulk rubbish when requested
To arrange skips for the removal of bulk rubbish
To report and arrange the removal of fly tipped materials
To monitor the works of service contractors and repairs workds carried out and report to Housing Officer
To carry out checks on fire safety and security equipment as directed
