SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE
The Rochester Public Schools School Age Child
Care Program provides a safe, nurturing environment where children can feel they are significant and they belong. Program goals include
the following:
· Create a happy, warm, exciting environment that is inviting, comfortable, flexible, and manageable for the children.
· Promote respect for self and others, while responsibilities and social skills are both enhanced and encouraged.
· Provide a variety of developmentally-appropriate activities including: arts, crafts, self-directed play, field trips, dramatic play, library, computer lab, physical activities (indoor and outdoor), community service, reading, science, quiet time, and offer an environment where homework is encouraged.
Eligible Participants:
· Summer 2017--children entering kindergarten through those entering sixth grade for the 2017/2018 school year.
· School Year 2017/2018--children entering
kindergarten through fifth grade.
During the Summer Program, child care is available Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Gage, Franklin, and Sunset Terrace.
Child care during the School Year Program will
begin on the first day of school (9/5/17) and/or kindergarten (9/7/17) at the following School Age Child Care sites:
Bamber Valley Folwell Hoover Pinewood
Bishop (9/7) Franklin Jefferson Riverside
Churchill Gage Lincoln Choice Sunset Terrace
Elton Hills Gibbs Longfellow Washington
Sites will be open from 6:30 a.m. until school begins
and after school until 6:00 p.m. /
Enrollment Requirements:
· Completed online registration.
· $69.00 non-refundable registration fee paid per family (per year).
· Required to schedule and pay for one
(1) morning or afternoon session during the school year and one (1) full or half day during the summer for each child registered.
Scheduling Options:
· Schedules: Families will log onto their online SACC account https://rochester.ce.eleyo.com to enter schedules. All schedules or changes need to be in one week (7-days) prior to when care or a change is needed.
· Drop In: A 24-hour notification to the site is requested. If adequate staffing or space is
not available, care may be denied.
Non-School Enrichment Days:
Full-day care from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. will be
offered on conference days, District Days,
Winter/Spring Breaks, and other planned days
off as staffing and space allow.
Sites for NSED: Jefferson, Bamber Valley, and Northrop
Shirts:
Children are required to wear a School Age Child Care program shirt for all off-site activities or field trips. This is for safety and identification purposes. /
Inclement Weather Days:
School Age Child Care may be available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Northrop Education Center for families registered in the School Year Program. Care on days when school is closed is at the discretion of the Rochester Public School Administration and/or the Governor. If all District buildings are closed to provide safety for staff and families, care will NOT be available.
Longfellow:
School Age Child Care at Longfellow will accommodate the 45/15-day schedule. A collaboration of agencies will provide programming for the 15 days off. Registration forms will be available approximately one (1) month in advance of time off.
