Role:Assessment, Quality and Standards Manager

Salary:£37,455 - £43,401

Accountable to: Director of Quality

Accountable for:

Responsibility for co-ordinating and managing the college quality improvement process and initiatives with Curriculum Teams to improve overall performance and quality outcomes in line with current inspectorate and awarding body requirements.

Act as the Quality Nominee with Awarding Organisations and oversee all activities relating to qualification assessment, standardisation and assurance.

Portfolio of responsibilities:

  • To ensure effective and robust assessment and internal verification policy, procedures and practices are in place and being adhered to in line with regulatory and awarding requirements
  • To provide training to staff with regard to quality processes & awarding body requirements to enable them to meet the required standards at all times
  • Lead on cross-college standardisation for key awarding body partners and lead the preparations for centre reviews
  • Act as the main point of contact as Quality Nominee for all queries relating to assessment and verification practice and provide guidance and support to teams on these matters
  • Manage the programme approval process for new provision, ensuring teams achieve full compliance with Awarding Organisation requirements
  • To work with and support the teaching and learning development team to provide robust support and development to teachers and tutors
  • To assist with the co-ordination and support of staff (curriculum and support areas) in the preparation, and monitoring of self-assessment and improvement planning processes
  • To prepare the audit plan and quality monitoring schedule for each academic year with and carry out the monitoring and reporting functions that are designated
  • To oversee the key quality assurance and improvement processes as designated within the quality strategy and annual quality calendar
  • To work with underperforming teams to ensure they have robust action plans in place and are clear about the urgency of improvement
  • To lead and manage the Quality Team Leader, Awarding Organisations Co-Ordinator and have a matrix link to the Faculty Lead Internal Quality Assurers
