Role: Apprenticeship Recruitment Officer

Salary:£24,786 - £27,891

Accountable to:Generation Manager

To provide apprenticeship recruitment vacancy service, working with a caseload of apprenticeship applicants and employers to, ensure fulfilment and matching of apprenticeship vacancies.

Portfolio of responsibilities:

  • Arrange interviews with candidates as per employer request.
  • Contribute to the advertising process working to tight deadlines.
  • Effective liaison with the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) and other College services which may be of benefit to a student or employer.
  • Ensure all recruitment paperwork is kept up to date and accurate, and completed in a timely manner.
  • Following successful completion of the Assessment Centre, the post holder will be required to use their knowledge to identify the most appropriate employability pathway for the candidate and to follow this through including registering them on programme and managing progression through to a successful Apprenticeship.
  • Inputting adverts onto our online systems.
  • Liaise with leaners seeking apprenticeship opportunities via telephone, email and face to face.
  • Manage excellent customer service both verbally and written to all stakeholders.
  • Marketing activities, promoting apprenticeship vacancies across all campuses
  • Match candidate CVs to apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Offer advice & guidance to candidates, including employability skills such as interview techniques, CV writing and mock interviews
  • Record all interaction with clients / customers on the College CRM database.
  • Report weekly on activity against targets.
  • Respond to general recruitment enquiries within 24 hours
  • Retrieve and process confidential right to work documents for all candidates prior to starting work/apprenticeship
  • Undertake initial assessments on all candidates prior to job offer.
  • Support with account management and offer high levels of support to employers
  • Through the effective management of Assessment Centres and successful placement of Apprentices, to contribute to the college’s Apprenticeship target.
  • To assist with the running of the Assessment Centres at the City Centre location in order to match candidate skills with Apprenticeship opportunities to secure the right match of Apprentice to available opportunities, and directing prospective Apprentices as appropriate to other opportunities and destinations for example Further or Higher Education.
  • To conduct interviews and pre-screening activity with prospective Apprentices in advance of attendance at Assessment Centres to determine their suitability for employment and make subsequent decisions on appropriate next steps for individuals
  • To provide regular reports on activity including Assessment Centre figures and performance against target.
  • To utilise the Apprenticeship Vacancy On Line (AVOL) to proactively source, recruit and fill vacancies
  • Undertake initial assessments with all apprentice learners to effectively assess functional English & Maths skills prior to starting apprenticeship
