Power Supplies Production Supervisor

PURPOSE OF THE JOB : / To carry out inspection of both the Power Supplies overhead line and associated equipment.
STAFFING RESPONSIBILITIES : / Nil
SALARYRANGE / Metro Grade 3A
The following list is typical of the duties, which the post holder will be required to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar type or level may be required from time to time.
The post holder will be required to use his or her own initiative and work unsupervised for considerable periods of time.
There will be a requirement to work unsociable hours. The working week shall consist of 5 shifts (day or night) out of 7, which may be spread over any 5 days of the week, including Saturday and Sunday Although most of the works will be carried out on dayshift (Monday to Thursday) night shift Thursday.
There will be a requirement to undertake rostered standby/callout duties.
  • Base roster maximum of 2 weeks night shift within a 4 week period
Safety critical post.
PRINCIPAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. / Power Supplies Overhead line and associated equipment inspection.

Management of Contractors; Lookout and WSC
1. / MAIN ACCOUNTALBILITIES
Responsible for the examination / inspection reporting of the Power Supplies and Overhead Head Line and associated equipment at frequencies laid down by the Principle Engineer (E&M).
2. / To ensure all inspections are in compliance with current / future health and safety legislation, relevant standards and procedures.
3. / To ensure all allocated administration is completed correctly, recorded and submitted within the relevant time scales.
4. / To maintain all relevant records on Maximo maintenance management system.
5. / Provide technical backup within roles and responsibility.
6. / There may be a requirement to temporarily deputise to next line of management structure where applicable.
7. / There will be a requirement to undertakestandby / on call duty.

9. / When required to undertake all Overhead Line Maintainers Duties
There may be a requirement to return to work to oversee/control OLE emergencies and incidents (voluntary) unless on a scheduled roster standby / on call duty.

Operation of Nexus Heavy plant to include such as but not limited to RRVs and OTP RRVs p and other equipment that may be introduced to improve safety and productivity.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

JOB TITLE :Linesman Patroller (Power Supplies)

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES / SKILLS

1.Have demonstrable experience, in power supplies and overhead line maintenance.

2.Have demonstrable experience, in power supplies and overhead line renewals.

3.Be authorised for carrying out switching duties in the railway or electricity utilities sector.

4.Have basic IT skills

5.Have basic literacy and numeracy skills.

6.Current UK Driving License

DESIRABLE QUALITIES / SKILLS

7.Class C (LGV) licence, or a commitment to obtain

8.

Be Senior Authorised to be able to issue safety documentation in the railway or electrical utilities sector, or a commitment to work towards it.

9.

Experience in or a commitment to work towards WSC / Train master, Lookout Man.

10.Heavy Plant Operator.
