Background

Funfair concern on the road outside the Royal Norfolk Hotel, blocking off road and too close to property.

Organisers requested additional dB level considerations which was not granted.

Organisers exceeded dB License condition in 2011 but no complaints.

SN offered his contact details out last year should anyone have any concerns over noise levels which worked well.

Additional proposals to hold an extended event to coincide with the opening evening of the Olympic Games and to watch ceremony on a big screen. Sound checks during the day.

The only two areas that will be inactive on the Friday night would be the two other stages.

Action Points

·  Organisers to be aware of the set noise level set in relation to the location being used this should be adhered to. Exceeding the dB level specified in the license condition is a breach and may result in formal action.

·  Organisers need to change the type of rides and the distance the funfair rides are located away from The Ancient Mariner. These arrangements need to be resolved for the 2012 event. Additional sanitary accommodation is being provided. Organisers to supervise emptying of toilets when tanker arrives.

·  License for alcohol sales on the Friday, organisers to apply for a one off Temporary Event Notice. SM/JS to discuss further with SG.

·  Organisers to amend the management plan for additional event, taking place on the Friday.

·  The event would be licensed up to10pm only with a maximum capacity of 2,000 on Friday evening.

·  Organisers to provide details on Friday night proposal to local venues should they wish to include provision for SIA staff for the additional staff requirements.

·  Stagecoach must be contacted through Road Closure process PG to advise SL so this happens this year.

·  The Wellbeing Team could link to overall event to promote Wellbeing priorities RW to pursue with Wellbeing Team.
