ROCKET PRIDE MOMENTS

ROCKET Softballwins Districts! Our team defeated Jones in a 3-game series, winning in the 3rd game 16-5. Good luck to the ladies as they travel to Verdigris, OK, for the Regional Tournament!

ROCKET Volleyballwon its first Conference Tournament Championship last weekend. The team won 5 out of 6 matches and two tie-breaking matches against CHA and OBA. Good luck to the ladies as they continue their state-bound march in Regionals hosted here at MSM!

Let us congratulate our wonderful teacher Mr. Brian Boeckman! He is a finalist in the Archdiocesan Teacher of the Year award, and tomorrow (Friday the 2nd) the winner will be announced!

A BIG “Thank You!”to the student body of Mount St. Mary for its efforts to contribute to our Higher Ground Campaign! The students, led by each of the class officers, raised over $5,000! We are deeply grateful to our students for the pride, the love, and the devotion they have displayed during the 2 weeks they raised this amount TOGETHER!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

A reminder from the Campus Ministry Department that all are encouraged to participate in the very important “Celebration of Life Walk”this Sunday, October 4th, at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Registration begins 1:00, and the Life Walk begins at 2:00! MSM is going to have a huge showing!

Pre-AP Spanish Studentswho want to participate in the Argentina Foreign Exchange Program through the Mercy Ambassadors Program, you are required to meet in Ms. Pace’s room on Monday the 5th at 8:00am to receive your applications directly from Ms. Pace.

Parent/Teacher Conferencesare October 14th and 15th. Our teachers are available to you from 12:30-3:15 on the 14th, and on the 15th from 7:30am to 12:15. Please contact Mrs. Kim Wagner at 631-8865, ext. 209, and she will be happy to make your appointments for you. Keep in mind that P/T conferences are not required. We hold them so that if you have concerns, you may sit down and talk with our teachers.

Parents, when our teams (drama, athletic, music) participate in the State Tournament, and because I strongly believe in the support of ROCKET PRIDE and the effort our students have made to get to the highest level of competition, I not only allow students an “excused” absence to attend (provided not on the D/F List), but if the competition occurs during the school day, I actually close school so that we can ALL attend to support our students!

Picture order formswere distributed this week to the students and are due October 8th. Make-up pictures for underclassmen will be taken on Monday, October 12th during 1st hour.
