Designed, implemented and managed fitness centers and wellness programming for hospital employees, families and the communities of High Point and Kernersville, NC.

  • Managedoverall operation of two fitness centers, which included staffing, budget, strategic planning, programming, marketing, personal training, group exercise class instruction, program metrics and building maintenance. Recognized by the Medical Fitness Association for exceptional customer service and quality of programming.
  • Taught low back care classes, conducted fitness assessments, and provided one-on-one exercise orientations and training.
  • Developed and directed The Golf Fitness Academy.
  • Managed a multi-dimensionalwellness program that raised awareness of disease risk and promoted healthier lifestyle choices. Conducted monthly wellness workshops, which maintained a 98% survey satisfaction rate, published a monthly wellness newsletter, and monthly health observances. Offered wellness screens and coaching,and health-specific programs for weight loss, hypertension, smoking cessation, stress management, and low back pain, to name a few.
  • Provided community outreach and education via newspaper and magazine articles, television spots, social media, fit tip emails, and insightful wellness workshops withrelevant topics. Offered various health screens, wellness fairs and education for local businesses and organizations.
  • Implemented and chaired the Advisory Board Committee, comprised of members, staff and physicians. Facilitated quarterly meetings to report on and solicit input regarding the operation of the fitness center and programs.
  • Also directed Heart Strides, the hospital’s cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs from 12/03 to 12/13.
  • Submitted monthly management reports, which kept all stakeholders informedabout utilization, program accomplishments and upcoming events. Developed annual strategic planning and operating budgets.
