Road closures and parking suspension in effect from 9am to 9.30pm on

Saturday 12 July 2014 for Lewisham People’s Day

The map below shows the majority of the roads that will be affected by closures and parking suspensions. Please note that Desvignes Drive is also closed on the day of the event. The closure also includes a limited number of bays on George Lane being suspended from Monday 7 to Monday 14 July 2014, to allow delivery vehicles to turn into the park without posing a risk to parked cars. Road closures and parking suspensions will be in effect from 9am on Saturday 12 July 2014, except for a number of suspensions on George Lane as detailed above.

If you live in an area where all parking will be suspended, you will need an event parking pass. You can get your pass from Continental Drifts, the production company for Lewisham People’s Day, by calling 020 8365 9695 or alternatively email , clearly stating your name, postal address and vehicle registration number. Permits will be available for collection at Mountsfield Park from Thursday 10 July from the production office (with valid proof of address i.e. utility bill). Permits will be valid between 6pm and 10pm on Friday 11 July and from 7am on Saturday 12 July.

If you live in an area which allows resident access and parking, you will need to show proof of where you live to gain access during the closures. This proof could be; Zone L parking permit, driver’s licence with correct address, council tax or utility bill, NHS ID for those working in Hospital Lane.

Press releases will be sent out to local media warning People’s Day visitors that the Council will not hesitate to issue parking tickets and fines to those parking illegally. The Council’s approach to illegal parking at People’s Day 2014 is part of a continued plan to encourage attendees to use public transport and bikes.

Please note: This map does not show all roads - Desvignes Drive is also closed on the day of the event. George Lane parking suspensions at Gate A only in effect 9am Monday 7 July to 9.30pm Monday 14 July 2014.
