Notes on registering a Team at the RMIT Student Union – 2017 Annual Elections

Candidates wishing to register a team must familiarise themselves with RMIT Student Union Regulation 5.6.4.

In order to register a team, candidates must:

Complete this Registration of Electoral Team Application and lodge it with the Returning Officer/Assistant Returning Officer before the close of nominations at 12:00 noon Friday,

18 August 2017.

The Application must be signed by at least five current RMIT students who are financial members of the Student Union in addition to the Registered Officer of the team.

It is recommended that more than five students sign the application in case some of the students whose signatures have been obtained are ineligible.

The signatories do not have to be candidates at the elections.

No student can be a signatory for more than one team.

If the proposed team name includes the name of a club or society affiliated with the Student Union, the application must include the terms of a resolution of that club or society approving the use of the name and the signature of the president or secretary of the club certifying the passing of the resolution.

If the Team name has been used in an RMIT Student Union election within the last three years the Team application must include a signature to show the consent of the most recent registering/liaison officer for consideration in any dispute/enquiry.

Team colours and/or logo must be submitted to the Returning Officer by the close of nominations.
