Job Title: Associate Account Manager

Department: Transportation - Fleet

Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing internal administrative and technical support to the Transportation-Fleet Department. Individuals should be flexible, supportive and demonstrate team work and cooperation towards all members of the company.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assists Account Managers, Account Executives, and Unit Manager in the management of client accounts.
  2. Works with Account Executive as directed for any follow ups, certificates of insurance, loss summaries, policy checking, policy mailing, etc.
  3. Provides excellent customer service in timely response to questions and requests, including certificates of insurance and any other client needs.
  4. Assists Account Managers and Account Executives in the preparation of proposals and applications, submits them to insureds and carriers, obtains clients’ signature on apps, and follows up to ensure timely responses.
  5. Provides technical support to Producers (coverage analysis, with proposal, etc.).
  6. Maintains Agency management system accurately and consistently, processes incoming mail requests accurately and according to Agency standards.
  7. Handles cancellations with care, saving all accounts possible while adhering to E&O guidelines.
  8. Assists or completes other tasks as directed by Agency management.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree. Possess or have the ability to acquire applicable resident and non-resident agency/broker license and comply with continuing education requirements.

2. Preference will be given to those with a minimum of one year brokerage background involving insurance processing, customer servicing and/or information handling. Preference given to candidates meeting requirements in the transportation industry.

3. Working knowledge of a wide array of insurance coverage, policy terms and conditions including workers compensation, general and automobile liability, marine, cargo and property.

4. Strong team environment skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a group.

5. Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills and acute attention to detail.

6. Strong computer skills and proficiency in PC applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of Applied System or the ability to train and acquire working knowledge within short time frame.

7. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to produce and deliver focused communication both verbally and in writing throughout all levels of client organizations, the Agency, as well as insurance carriers and third party brokers.

8. Strong aptitude for flexibility and multi-tasking with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment.
