Branded attire

All front-office staff at RHP offices will be required to wear either an RHP polo or branded professional attire such as a button-down dress shirt or a cardigan. Will I have to pay for my scrubs or branded professional attire?

Riverview Health will provide employees who were employed before November 23, 2015, with a one-time stipend to help facilitate the transition into color-coded uniforms. The size of the stipend depends on employee status.

How much of a stipend will be provided by Riverview Health?

  • Part-Time: $60
  • Occasional Part-Time/PRN: $30
  • Float: $30-$60 (depending upon level)

In order to provide Riverview Health staff with discounted, volume-based pricing, Riverview Health has entered into a contractual agreement with TJ Uniforms. As a result, Riverview Health employees can purchase scrubs, lab coats and uniforms directly from TJ Uniforms during the onsite fitting events. In mid-December 2015, purchases can be made at the online store created specifically for Riverview Health staff using a credit card or payroll deduction.

Uniforms ordered during the Road Shows will be delivered in early January 2016. Uniforms ordered through the online store will be shipped directly to the staff member’s home or preferred address.

Will I have to wear a specific brand of scrubs or professional attire?
Yes, to maintain color continuity, we are limiting uniforms to certain brands. All styles and brands will be available at the fittings and the online store. The scrub brands chosen are Cherokee and Dickies, in part, because of their durability, competitive pricing and range of styles/sizes. The branded professional attire varies and is meant to fit a wide range of body types and individual style.

What are the guidelines for garments worn under scrubs or polos?
Long-sleeve shirts in either solid white or solid black may be worn under scrub tops and polos. No other colored shirts or patterns may be worn under scrub tops or polos.

Do scrub pants have to be the same color as scrub tops?
Yes, the pants and the tops must be the same color.

Will scrub jackets be provided as part of the uniform? If not, will employees have to purchase them on their own? What are the color guidelines?
The one-time stipend provided to staff members can be used however the employee chooses; however, it is strongly suggested that the stipend be used first to purchase scrub sets. If an employed staff member decides to purchase a scrub jacket, then the scrub jacket must be purchased in the employee’s primary role-based color (e.g., royal blue scrub jacket with royal blue scrubs).

What are the scrub options for pregnant staff?
There are four scrub options:

  1. Maternity scrub styles, in the employee’s respective color, are available from Cherokee Workwear Original and Cherokee Workwear Premium.
  2. Maternity scrub pants and a larger jacket in the correct color along with a maternity shirt or larger scrub top to be worn under the jacket.
  3. Maternity scrub pants and a larger mock wrap tunic that can be tied/loosened in the back to accommodate thebaby.
  4. Larger size scrubs in the respective color.

If I would like additional uniform sets, how can I purchase them?

Employees can purchase additional uniform sets from the online store. The online store was created specifically for Riverview Health and can be used at any time to fulfill scrub or uniform needs.

What are the options for employees who are required to wear skirts for religious reasons or would prefer to wear skirts?

Employees can purchase skirts in their respective colors to wear with their designated scrub tops. There will be a scrub skirt option on the online store.
