Activity / Visit: Year 4/5 Kwik Cricket Festivals Date: 7th/8th July 2015

Venue: Sacriston Cricket Club/Durham City Cricket Club

Educational Objectives:-

·  To learn new skills, knowledge and understanding of Cricket activities using a variety of teaching and learning methods.

·  To compete and participate in Kwik Cricket games against other schools taking part.

General movement around the centre and clubs:-
Stairs, Toilet areas, communal areas / All participants / ·  Centre and clubs comply with Health and Safety regulations.
·  Centre has Public Liability Insurance
·  Communal areas looked after well by centre staff. / ·  All young people will be accompanied by staff during movement around the centre. / ·  Constant monitoring and review during event.
Taking part in game of cricket / All participants and staff / ·  Event organised by qualified cricket coaches and members of the SSP.
·  All matches are umpired by teachers and sports leaders
·  Pitch checked prior to use
·  All equipment – kwik cricket – no other to be used. / ·  Event cancelled if poor weather / ·  Constant monitoring and review during event.
Use of hired transport to transport pupils to and from activity. / All schools participating in the festival. / ·  Reputable bus company used for journeys.
·  All children and adults to wear seatbelt provided.
·  Appropriate number of staff assisting group of children. / ·  Safe pick up points.
·  Only school sites used for pick up and drop off from the festival.
·  Parents consent gained prior to transportation. / ·  Pre arranged transport schedule checked and reviewed.
·  Communication with parents and school where necessary.
