New challenges for the band
The big red band led by Mr. Greg Odom currently numbers 56 members. Mr. Odom has estimated that we will add at least 30 members next year. This will be a big challenge for the band. We do not have enough uniforms to cover the 56 members we have. The cost of uniforms, equipment, travel etc. grows higher each year. The need for extra money is greater now than ever before.
The booster club has taken on the task of raising the needed funds to help parents keep their personal cost down. All we ask is for every parent to participate in our fund raising events and help us help the band. Over the next few months the board members will be working with Mr. Odom to develop some guidelines about the costs for band members for next year. We will outline how involvement with the booster club can be used to pay those costs.
Our goal is to help establish a new feeling of pride in the big red band! A sense that every member is a part of something great!

ARTESIA MARCHING FESTIVAL
The band participated in the artisia marching festival on October 12th. We had a great time, inspite of a few travel glitches. We arrived in time to get to the field and perform.
This writer believes the band was better than the 3 they got for their performance. It was a great thrill to watch as the band took the field. After the festival, the booster club provided hamburgers and drinks for everyone. It was a great party. Everyone should plan to attend next year
