Hi, my name is Annwyn Godwin and I am the Merit Protection Commissioner. We have revamped this website with you in mind.

Each section has summary info to help you skim to what you want and by clicking on a question, you thenaccess more detailed information. There is also a ‘view all’ button that you can print and keep for future reference and a search facility on the top right hand side of your screen. A couple of words is all that needed to get filter for an answer.
The Review in Practice tabis purple and provides info on the legislative framework, some important terms and gives practical advice. We explain some issue that tend to cause misunderstandings such as ‘what is procedural fairness?’ And we also look at issues to do with how to be strategic in managing issues and the other options available.
As part of our commitment to streamlining and reducing red tape, there are sections to help ‘cut through’ to the important issues such as ‘What must an agency do?’ ‘Common mistakes?’ ‘Notifying and managing promotions’. We hope you find the step-by-step approach easy to follow.
Through the office of the Merit Protection Commissioner Agencies and individuals can easily access high quality, impartial and expert services specific to the Public Service. In addition to that specific information, there are also general topics in the ribbon along the top of the website.
