It is suggested that consideration could be given to potential use of the recently built Sunfields Church in Old Dover Road as a potential alternative polling place, with a larger hall for polling. However, as with the current polling place, this would not be central to the polling district.

This polling place is also used for polling district TM1 in Thamesmead Moorings Ward and Erith & Thamesmead constituency, with both electorates being administered in a shared room, with scope for ballot papers to be placed into incorrect ballot boxes and consequently not counted.
It is PROPOSED that consideration be given to use of the BROADWATER VILLAGE HALL in Goosander Way (next to the dental and health centre) as the polling place for this district. The premises are fully accessible and otherwise suitable for polling.
Alternatively it is suggested that the large assembly and dining hall in Heronsgate School be used, with access direct from the car park in Goosander Way at the side of the school, which could be made fully accessible with works to drop the car park kerb and permanent ramping of the entrance to the hall. This would however continue the shared use of premises with polling district TM1 in the Erith & Thamesmead constituency.

POLLING DISTRICT GL3
DESIGNATED POLLING PLACE Polthorne Tenants’ Meeting Room, Polthorne Grove, SE18

OBSERVATIONS Adequate kitchen and other facilities for polling staff.
It is suggested that consideration could be given to dividing this polling district and use of the Glyndon Play Centre in Elmley Street and the East Plumstead Baptist Church at the junction of Griffin and Brewery Roads as polling places instead of South Rise School. The Glyndon Play Centre is fully accessible, and the East Plumstead Baptist Church is partially accessible. If this suggestion were to be pursued it is also suggested that the northern boundary of the polling district could be extended to the railway line so as to include Walmer Terrace and the recently-built Elmgrove Point.

ACCESSIBILITY Fully accessible with level access.
SUITABILITY Adequate hall for polling.
OBSERVATIONS No kitchen facilities for polling staff, although a café is on site and toilet facilities are adequate.
This is adequate for administration of polling for the current number of electors, although queuing is likely to occur at busy periods on polling days. It is likely to be insufficient to accommodate polling for the anticipated additional new population. It is PROPOSED that, partly to offset the large increase in electorate, the properties east of Christchurch Road and north of Pelton Road be incorporated into polling district PA3 (see below).
POLLING DISTRICT PA3
