Test format: 50 Questions, multiple choice

You should be familiar with the following concepts from the HW packet:

·  introduction/approach to medical vocabulary (prefix, root, suffix)

·  homeostatic mechanisms:

o  receptors, control center, effectors, afferent vs. efferent pathways, negative vs. positive feedback mechanisms

o  glucose, blood pressure, temperature in particular

·  relative position (superior, inferior etc...)

·  body cavities (thoracic, cranial, etc…)

·  membranes (visceral vs. parietal etc…)

·  body regions (cervical, sternal, femoral, etc…)

·  abdominopelvic regions (tic-tac-toe, quadrants, LABS)

·  fields of medicine (cardiology, orthopedics, etc…)

You should use your homework packet as your primary source for review. In addition, you may find the following useful:

·  flashcards/notescards
