The Day of the Lord IS coming, it is near, and there are things that we are told to do in order to live in the light of this fact.
Is. 13:6 The Day of the Lord is going to bring destruction: NOT initiated by the nations, but by Almighty God.
Is. 13:7-9 This is a cruel and burning anger that God is initiating on the earth
Rev. 8 1/3, 1/3, 1/3….First, Second, Third and Fourth Trumpet
Is. 13:10-11I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their sins.
God IS going to move but in HIS time and in HIS day.
Is. 13:11-13 I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride.
Is. 13:14-16 Infants dashed before their eyes, women ravished and houses looted.
Zach. 14:1-4, 6-9
Zeph. 1:7-8The Day of the Lord is NEAR!
Zeph. 1:9-12 Those that pollute God’s house God is going to destroy. God is going to destroy the stagnant, complacent ones.
Zeph. 1:13-18 The Day is coming quickly!! The warrior will cry a bitter cry, not one of victory
Rev. 1:1The things that are going to happen shortly
Zeph. 1:18-2:3Before the Day comes, gather together and seek the Lord!
Seek: The Lord Righteousness Humility
Humility is me simply bowing the knee and saying, “I am NOT in control”. It means “to be brought low”.
Joel 1:15; 2:1-2Zion is always one of two places: Earthly Jerusalem or Heavenly Zion. The trumpet was always blown to sound the alarm for war, to get the people together to let them know something. There has never been anything like the Day of the Lord, nor will there be again after it.

Dan 11:45; 12:1(11:45 tells where he will pitch his tent: “at that time”) Also could be a reference to when The Anti-Christ receives his mortal wound and comes back to life.
Michael stands guard over the sons of Israel.
Many of these prophesies about the Day of the Lord are given to the Jews, but they are also a warning to the surrounding nations.
SOME Jews will be rescued, but not all. (Is. 13)
Matt. 24:15-21 The Temple will be rebuilt and it will have a Holy of holies, where the beast/AntiChrist will walk in and declare himself God. Then there will be a Great Tribulation.
Tribulation: thlipsis – to crush, to press.
Matt. 24:22Unless those days, of this Great Tribulation, had been cut short, there would be NO life.
What elect? Jewish elect; same as those in Daniel 12.THOSE who have been written in the book.
Mark 13:19 The Day of the Lord now goes with the Great Tribulation!!!!!!!
Joel 2:1-2
Joel 2:11-12Mourning is shown by a Jew tearing their garments. But God says don’t just rend your garments, rend your HEARTS! I am to fast, weep and mourn. We can’t stop the Day of the Lord, but we can be prepared for it.
Joel 2:13-18 When they weep, mourn, fast and call a solemn assembly…… WE can return to the Word!
Is.58:5-6 “Is it a fast like this which I choose, a day for a man to humble himself? Is it for bowing one’s head like a reed and for spreading out sackcloth and ashes as a bed? Will you call this a fast, even an acceptable day to the Lord? Is this not the fast which I choose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke?”
Luke 1:37 Mary said, “How can these things be?” The angel said, “With God, not one word of God is void of power”. (For nothing will be impossible with God)

Joel 3:14 Valley of Decision means Valley of God’s verdict
Joel 3:14-17 It is going to take the Day of the Lord for the people to KNOW that He is GOD.
Joel 3:17-21
It is a Day that includes Jesus coming to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.
How can you prepare?
Seek the Lord.
Seek righteousness
Seek humility
Fast, pray, mourn….
