6.Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune NC. 7.Myrtle Beach SC will host Military Appreciation Days (MAD) during May 2014. This month-long celebration is a "thank you" to our dedicated service men and women, and their families.The celebration includes active duty military personnel, reserves, the National guard and veterans from all service branches.During May, military personnel and their families can look for discounts at area restaurants and attractions, a traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, a big Memorial Day weekend parade with Grand Marshal Montel Williams, live music, a 5K run and other special events.For more info about Myrtle Beach's 2014 MAD, please visit the Myrtle Beach Website, call 843-918-1014 or send email to get Myrtle Beach MAD Info.

9.The 2014 Pacific Northwest Coast Guard Ball, sponsored by the Navy League Lake Washington Council, will take place on 27 September at the Bellevue Westin Hotel.When available, specifics will be posted on the Coast Guard Retiree Council Northwest website. POC Email: Mr Phil Johnson.
10.Special days at the 86th Dental Squadron.A retiree appreciation day is scheduled to take place from 8 to 11 a.m. on May 10.The dental clinic will provide X-rays, exams, oral cancer screening and cleaning.For appointments, call 06371-46-2210.
11.9th Annual Veteran Appreciation Day, June 7, 2014, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, Cherokee Fair Grounds, 200 Linden Street (South Hwy 59), Cherokee, IA, Dana Evans, Cherokee County VA Director, 712-225-6319, :This year’s theme will be World War I – 1914-1917 and World War II – 1941-1945.Veteran Affairs offices, businesses, military groups, and service organizations are invited to participate.VA reps will be in attendance.Free music and food.

21.Sheppard Air Force Base will hold its 27th Annual Retiree Appreciation Day activities on Friday, 9 May and Saturday, 10 May 2014.All retirees from all branches of the military and their family members are invited to attend. Friday and Saturday activities begin at the Community Center, Bldg 430, located across the street from Wing Headquarters, Bldg 400. Registration begins at 0800 and the opening ceremony starts at 0900.The days will be broken up into three different types of activities.First, an all-day Information Fair in which you can inquire about the many services that are provided to you as a retiree.Second, there will be Scheduled Activities happening throughout the base.Lastly, there will be Special Events with discounted pricing, to include a formal dinner/dance to end off the Retirees Appreciation Day on Saturday, 10 May 2014 at 1700.RSVP for the dinner\dance is required by 23 April.An RSVP form and more RAD information are available on the Sheppard AFB website.You may also contact the RAO at 940-676-2654\5088 or send Email to get more information.
